One of my new clients is a Brittany. What!!! What are the chances? In the 5 years I've had Rowan, and the 4 years of which I worked at dog daycares, I met a total of 4 Brittanys (plus the 3 owned by Ro's old foster mom that I dogsit for.) Not many at all. And now in this small business I'm working for, I get a Brittany as a regular
Here's the real musing part: Walking her was exactly like walking Rowan. I mean I felt like I was walking my dog. I've always thought that Rowan was super atypical for a Brittany, but now I'm wondering. My samples of Brits I've spent any real amount of time with hasn't been great - one very weird un-Brittany-like dog with an iffy past, two seniors (11 and 14), and one with serious neurological issues. So maybe I was way off base on thinking Rowan was so... different. He still is in some ways (I mean, he's a lazy Brittany, that doesn't really happen, right?) but... it's really exciting to think that someday I could have another dog with a relatively similar temperament to him.
I had discounted any future Brits because I thought they were so different. I'm looking forward to spending more time with this girl and getting to know her.
