Tonight Siri, Frodo and I worked on walking up and down the hallways, falling into a down *quickly* (ahem, Frodo :p) when asked, and continuing to focus on me around people outside. I was very impressed with both of them.

Maybe eventually that will extend to other dogs too for the Froman.

Why do I fall in love with these one of a kind mixes? I am so happy with the dog Squash is maturing into. If he were a breed I would be satisfied to have only Squashes for the rest of my life. Sigh.

I really love border collies. There are 3 border collies (and one wannabe BC welsh sheepdog) in my new tricks class and they're all lovely dogs. Very stable and calm when not working but such enthusiastic and energetic workers. And one I've never met before. She's a doll with a curly coat. <3 I'm in love.

Of course Mia was a buttface to my trainer's old BC. Jerk. and Mia and the Welsh sheepdog think they're barking buddies at each other. The viszla seemed to want to be part of the barking buddy club.

All the BCs were totally well behaved.

I...am really falling for my BC. How?! Once we got through that weird fear stage, and now that he's getting worked regularly with a lot of guidelines, he is maturing into such a lovely little dog. He fell off the teeter the other day, hard, loud, big fall - and when I asked him to get back on (with food), he just though "oh, mom won't let me get hurt" and went RIGHT back on, immediately, no hesitation. I <3 dogs with guts and trust :)

I keep looking long and hard again at BCs. They can be kinda weird but they're just such bright, fun dogs. I wish I knew where to find my kind of BC. The ones I like so far are all working lines (unregged farmdog style) or rescues. I like some sport collies too but they don't fit me so much. My issue is finding health testing and a breeder that would let me play AKC. The politics scare the crap out of me.

I also really want a few other breeds too.

Curses being sane and only allowing myself 3 dogs at a time.

You must get a BC with awesome ear fringe.

Because Laur = DOGS WITH EPIC EAR FRINGE.

I'm no help past that. XD

Umm there is a papillon boy I want very badly. Oversized and my ideal markings. Agility prospect. High energy and spunky. Huge ears. I really wish I could. :(

In rescue? Send to me! I want an agility pap, but Zach says they're too small and wants something closer to 20 lbs so I figured I was looking for mixes.

I have already named futurepapillon. Minion. After these guys:

No breeder puppy. Ack those puppy eyes...

My logic starts looking like: landlord didn't notice the four at my house now.... Doubt he'd notice a third of my own. Haha no, my landlord is really laid back about that and would be fine with it. Tricolor... Matches Mia... Small enough it would be an easy addition and I could still get nextdog right? That's only like 10 extra lbs of dog?

And then I start figuring out agility class prices for four dogs and go...:( lol

But he is cute! So flipping cute!

I am disgusted at how much I spend trialing one dog. I don't think I can afford trialing two. I need to time it properly so that Lucy retires before the next dog starts. But but but...I don't want Lucy to retire :(

I have to say I love the name Minion. Fits so well lol.

Yeah I need to wait until Summer is closer to retiring. Im aiming for nextdog in a year to two and hopefully that makes it close.

My trainer told me to stop dicking around and start Elsie's CD now. I told him I wanted to get her RE first, and he rolled his eyes and said, "Why? You're ready now."

I said, "I want to be in the A-class for her RE."

He laughed pretty hard, and I said, "I know, I know--I want the ribbons though," and he said, "Yeah, no, I got that."

I'm glad he thinks I'm so funny.

I'm so pleased with the way Elsie's heeling is coming along. She really loves it, and we're finally getting to the point where it's like a dance (when we're both on--we have a ways to go before that's automatic at trials). I tripped while we were working earlier this week and she pretended to stumble too. Booger.

I tapped pans ears down because of his wonky rose ears and he is so not happy. He seems to not be sleeping very well, but the tape in not too tight. I did take out the weights that initially helped hold down his ears because they where so up in the air and they are staying down now. So hopefully that helps. My poor monster.

Percy is a creeper. He kept pawing my chest to wake me up last night, staring at me intently once I woke up and then turning his circles and going back to sleep. Twice I woke up and he had his head through the curtains above our bed staring out the window. He paw-woke me a total of five times last night.
Creeper dog.
