Here's a portrait I'm *trying* to work on over a few days. I sketched it, then smudged it to build up the lighter tones. I'm working up the darker tones and trying to define the fur. I colored the eyes for fun. :) I don't think the photo of this does it justice.

And here's a doodle I did of Mochi. I forced myself to draw him facing right this time! :D

I love that first one. The eyes are so pretty!

Hehe, and it's great you're practising drawing to the right!

I had fun inking my nerd picture:

I'm actually really liking it..... But I swear I'll never draw that vest again! >.<

hmm I always sketch facing left too. I wonder are we all right handed, and do left handed people sketch facing right?

The inked pic looks really good.

That's really cool! You must have some kind of patience for all those little details! Micron pens?
What's that from?
The last fan picture I drew was of Nicholas angel from Hot Fuzz. My sister has a crush on him in that movie, so I drew her this really funny hunky rendering of him.
She also likes Leon from Resident Evil. Once time I drew her a birthday card where Leon had his clothes torn to shreds by zombies! LOL!

Yep, .02 Microns. Took way too too long to ink! They're all from various Square Enix Video games. Squall Leonheart, Balthier, Basch, Demyx, Axel, Auron and Cloud Strife. Plus the bunny thing which is a moogle. I'm a gaming nerd. lol

And I've always wondered if it was a right handed left handed thing but I never could figure it out. I don't think I know any left handed people that draw. It'd be interesting to know!

And no idea. I just drew it then decided it needed to be neon..... I don't even know. Colors are so off on here. *sigh*
WHOA. I love this one, Lauren... *drools*

Bcmoffat, if you draw like that, we DEFINITELY need to see more. I think I'm in love with your realistic-huskies...

Really super quick (unfinished and prolly always will be) charcoal sketch of Eve. Working on those **** right-facing animals! lol.

Thanks Noludoru, I'll have to finish it and get a decent scan sometime. the colors looks so much better here.

Lol I think it's funny we're all concentrating on drawing things facing the right now.

Grace, I demand that you finish that picture! ;)

It's looking really good so far, I've never tried charcoal before.

Ok, I spent another 20 minutes or so on the Eve drawing. Sorry for the super crappy pic. Taken with my cell phone since I don't have the patience to deal with my POS scanner.

I just realized how out of place some parts of this drawing look, but alas, i have NO erasers unless I want to use the big fat ones on the ends of pencils. A certain puppy who shall remain nameless demolished my entire eraser collection and most of my graphite pencils, hence my new exploration with the charcoal. When I get paid this week, the first thing I'm buying is a big stash of erasers because I just realized how much I hate working without them.

Oh, and the smudges on this drawing? Not my fingers, but Eve's. -_- i wanna finish this one just for the hell of it, but then it's going straight to the garbage. lol

Nice to see you working the old way! THere is a lot of subtle lining up between the eyes and the stop of the muzzle, still a good attempt! I figure so many young artists are going to know color application on line, but not a clue how to achieve it with a box of paints. I am kinda glad i learned the old way first, i still prefer it.

Great work, everyone! :)

Here's a tiger drawing I'm working on. There are still things I need to finish on it and things that are annoying me.

It's a picture of a drawing as my scanner is down.

That's gorgeous, Virginia!! :) I've never been able to do tiger stripes, but yours are terrific.

Smkie, I know!! That stupid spot between the eyes and muzzle drives me crazy, especially right now that I don't have a single damned eraser. lol!

I actually think I quite like drawing the "old way". I want to start doing acrylic paintings sometime soon... that'll be a disaster I'm sure, but should be fun.

Oooh thank you, Smkie! I'm going to go pick up some paints today or tomorrow and I'd love to take you up on that offer, if you have the time! :)

Did a little (ok, a lot, but I always do the light tones last!) shading on that drawing of Eve.

This drawing is weird. I really like it so far "in person", but in pictures it looks really flat and lifeless. Maybe it's the quality of the cell phone pics. I dunno. I work on it a little at a time and like it while I'm working on it, and when I take a picture for a WIP and look at it, I go "EWW!". Then I look at the actual drawing again and I like it. *sigh*

And a random pair of nondescript eyes that I started whilst waiting in the mall today. charcoal and graphite. Not going to do much with this, its just one more thing in the sketch book.
