Thats horrible that they told you to wait... I would be shopping for a new vet.

Glad to hear its not likely serious, sorry to hear about your car. (I LOVE enzymatic products... just in case your car still smells)

Luckily I'm leaving TX in a few weeks and can go back to a vet that is decent! I've been vet shopping since I got Summer, 2 1/2 years ago. Still have not found a decent vet. (You remember her eye surgery fiasco right? That was yet another vet here). You'd think there'd be a good vet in town considering we have one of the top vet schools in the country here.

I'm so glad Summer is ok. My vet is pretty bad too :(, I'm using the SPCA vet hospital because they are reasonably priced but last time they didn't even know which side they gave a shot to my dog when I called back. Plus they were incredibly rude.

I think you should look for a new vet too. I hope she feels back to normal asap!

I can't imagine how hard that would be.. not to have a vet you trusted. I would have been uber freaking if that happened to Dekka and I didn't feel like I had someone I could just show up with. (like when she got whacked in the head. I just called my vet and basically said I was on my way in and they said ok)

Glad you are going somewhere with better vet care..

that's awful. I would not go back to a vet that treated me that way. They should be able to squeeze you in for an emergency, and this qualified. I think you did the right thing to take her in. Hope she feels better soon, and that your car smells better soon....

Wait. Does the vet school not take patients and emergencies? I know the one in Knoxville does. It's not the least expensive place to go -- even though you'd think it would be since they are using students who are paying the school to be there rather than being paid to be there as the techs and even for some of the veterinary work.

Sending vibes that the medicine works for Summer and you can get your car and closet odor free.

That sucks about the vet - one of our older cats was a little 'off', nothing major, just not right, so Sis called our vet and they had her bring the cat in right away and squeezed her in between the scheduled appointments. Hope you can find a better vet (at least for some peace of mind until you move).

They do and that's who I called. They're just super super expensive. It's where Summer ended up when she needed to get her eye re-stitched (which unfortunately wasn't able to be done)

I remember when Blaze was pooping blood -literally, nothing but blood- the vet seemed to think he might have eaten alot of grass which could have irritated his skin, making him poop blood. Nothing serious, thankfully.

Prayers for a good night for you guys!

That is just beyond ridiculous! I would be in a fury if I were you!!!

When I dropped Ben on his head and he had a seizure my vet came to my house at 9pm to see him!! With no problem! Sometimes I wonder if the newer/younger vets even care about animals. With my vet it is all about his patients!

I sincerely hope Summer is ok. Please can we have an update. Poor girl!

Whereabouts in Texas are you? I've got a decent vet just outside San Antonio in Universal City if that's local to you at all. I've lost count of the number of times I've just shown up there with an animal and been seen almost right away.

I hope that Summer is feeling better :)

I've had two experiences with my own dogs pooing blood. Shelby ended up having a tumor in her butt area and Bandit had an intestine infection.

How's she doing?

What a terrible experience when you expect help when you need it most. I hope Summer has completely recovered and that it's a one time thing.
