YAY! I'm feeling so good right now!

So you guys know how Rizzo is really really afraid of people. She'll bark at them from a distance and cower away.

I've been slowly (agonizingly) working with her, to get her to trust more people. Or the very least not to bark at them. Well, we got to where she wouldn't bark at them from a distance if I was there and told her it was OK. If they got within a few feet of us she would still cower and kinda, bark off and on.

Well, tonight she actually let this girl pet her! :yikes:

She's never bitten, or tried to bite anyone, but she's never let anyone get that close without cowering! She didn't cower at all. She seemed a *bit* unsure but was still happy about the girl. I think it was her dog, Rizz really liked her dog and her dogs smell on the girl. This is a great improvement for her!

Now, the other person DID have a doggy friend for her :p but still! I'm happy to finally see some big improvement from her! :D

So YAY! :D

Thanks Jess!! :D I'm really excited about this! It's been awhile since she's shown any progress! And honestly, I was getting a bit down about her, getting a bit burned working with her, so this is just great! :D

Creepy post alert.

CONGRATS!!! That's awesome. It sounds like she's gotten so much better from when you first brought her home. How is she with your roommate and Pog? Also, BB, is Rizzo yours now? I mean, did you adopt her?

And that's really "Wow"! Great progress for Rizzo. Hope she's on the way for being a "therapy dog" or something! ;)

No. I probably should actually adopt her soon, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to do it. So far I've been pretty confident no one would want to work with all her stuff :p lol But yeah, I need to do the adoption and get it over with!

LOL therapy dog might be stretching it a bit (LOL! :p) but still, it's great! Thanks!

THis is what the pets for life lady Mary Beford told me...even if they never go for one visit...you will never regret reaching for this goal. Pepper is going to do it, it would be awesome FOR YOU if you could get Rizzo to join us. YOur a good trainer with good instincts and you don't have to be told there is no wasted time in training a dog. They are capable of soooooooooooo much more then most people help them learn. By training Vic and Pepper i feel i am securing them a better place in this world incase of my demise which is always at the back of my mind. If Pepper can be a therapy dog, and it is right there ON HER TAG then maybe if something did happen and she was picked up, she wouldn't be put to death.

I agree with Dizzy. You don't talk about her much or take many pics. :( At the very least, pictures, since the net worth of one picture is a thousand words. (right? LOL)

LOL! If anything, I can take a bunch of pics and get maybe one good one.......I've got a ton of practice with that ;) :p LOL!

I don't talk much on her period anymore. I just don't have anything worth while to say is all. I didn't talk much about Lucas, but he was so funny sometimes and he always let me take tons of pics! Rizzo is funny sometimes too, but even with Lucas I didn't get much response to threads without pics and since Rizz won't let me take many pics my options for threads are rather limited.

So I just don't have anything worth making a thread about right now.
