I found this quiz you can take to tell you which breed is "Best" for you. I don't agree with it completely but I thought is was fun to play with.

If you take it please post the breed you have and the breed they say is "best" for you. I would like to see how many matches we get. Some breeds people have here won't be available but most are.

My breed is the American Staffordshire Terrier and the website Matched me with English Bull Dog.(German Pinscher was 2nd) My breed was 5 on the list they gave me.

I have a mostly border collie (mixed with GSD), a purebred Lab, and a Canaan Dog/JRT. It says a rough collie or smooth collie as number one, German shepherd as second, and Bouvier Des Flandres as third. Seventh is labrador retriever, which I already own and am doing great with.

I don't see tests as completely reliable. Often I have multiple answers. I also believe that many people think that all herding dogs (such as border collies) should be involved in something like agility. I've got a border collie, but we don't compete in agility. Not all BCs are going to want to do agility.

I got a American Staffordshire Terrier as my first choice, which is one of the breeds I like and one of the breeds that suits me. Then it was a GSD, Aussie, Boxer, Shar-pei, Chesapeke Bay Retriever, Lab...Bulldogs....hmmm....there weren't any Mastiffs though (except for the Great Dane)...and I think the Mastiffs are my best choice. But whatever...lol

There we go...I did it again but I chose more of what I really wanted in looks and I got pretty much the same top 5 but I also now have the Mastiff and a Rottie on my list.

My top dog was a rough or smooth collie, which doesn't make alot of sense b/c I said short hair and grooming once weekly or few minutes! Also listed Boxer, Great dane, lab, pug (even though I specified large dog :D ) Bermese Mt dog. Our next choice for a dog is a pitbull mix or a doberman mix.

German Shepherd Dog 78

I don't understand why I got a Border Collie cause I don't think I'd ever be able to handle all that energy!
These tests really aren't too accurate, at least not for me. I'm not a good fit for a breed like a bouvier or rough/smooth collie. However, I happen to be a good match for BCs...I don't know, I think it's important that you actually meet the breed before considering getting one of those dogs. I didn't know a ton before I got Tippy, but now I'm a border collie fanatic and Tippy's got a great life.
