I am on the way to the ER vets with my 11.5 year old Fenya.

She has had a sudden recurrence of severe pain after several months off any meds.

The Previcox is not controlling it. It does appear to be leg pain. At this age we all know what that probably means.

I do not intend to put her down today, but if the pain cannot be managed tomorrow might be decision day.

Please keep us in thoughts. My heart is breaking.

Thank you all for your thoughts and notes, it is much appreciated.

We are back from the ER vet. They seem to think it is spinal in nature, probably in the neck area. This is probably what happened to her earlier this year as well, which would explain her recovery.

They said her reflexes were overactive in her rear legs, and she was knuckling under occasionally on her right front, which seems to be the most painful.

We got Tramadol, which she has been on before to combine with the Previcox. I will be speaking with my vet tomorrow about other pain/inflammatory management.

I have iced her spine and down over the right shoulder that seems to be bothering her so. She enjoyed the ice, and slept while I kept it on her.

We will be seeking chiropractic tomorrow unless things go much worse between now and then.

Other than occasional stabs of pain, she seems to be doing ok, appetite is good, etc.

Thank you all again, many times over, for the thoughts and words. At her age you of course know the end of the road can't be far, but I will do what I can if she can get back to good quality of life, for however long.
