My dad's friend, Doug asked me to help him find a dog. Either a Dogue De Bordeaux or a Neapolitan Mastiff. I am the one who got him into Neos and I would be very happy and I am sure he would too if he got a great Neo. So, I was on puppyfind and saw this beautiful 8 month old Neo, VERY HANDSOME dog! $850 plus shipping. The dogs name is BooBerry. I have viewed their site, emailed, talked with the breeder a lot and so has Doug, and even though it is an (EXCELLENT) cheap price, this is a great dog. Dont have the link to his petfinder page yet, but will soon! I will also have pictures probably tommorow. Pray he will get this dog, please! This dog is awesome and a GREAT breeder. The breeder has a small dog rescue along with breeding Neos for 4 years. Wish him luck getting the dog, and pray he can! Thanks!

Can he go get the dog? Shipping can be very hard on dogs. Some rescues have people who will transport part of the way to meet you...

Quoted for truth!!!!

There are no reputable breeders on Puppyfind, I can guarentee that. I personally know two families who bought 2 Bulldogs from Puppyfind - the first had severe kennel cough & could've died from it, the second died after 2 weeks of a heart murmur that the "breeder" k n e w a b o u t but failed to tell the new owners. True story.

Buying a dog from across the country from an ad treats the poor dogs like items of furniture. Would you even buy furniture over the internet? Much less a living, breathing, feeling dog. Lemon laws are very very loose when it comes to buying animals, especially when the dog is shipped from another state.

I agree... I would never buy from puppyfind. Does the breeder do OFA and CERF testing (and can he show you the proof)? Does he do temperament testing? Does he show his dogs? Why does he breed if he has to post on puppyfind to sell the pups?

Amstaffer, no, it is too far away. And it is $2.50 for gas. Ok well this is what she answered when I asked the questions you told me to ask, Fran27 ......
I do not know about OFA OR CERF. She does not show. And she asked me to post them for her because her computer is down. I always use puppyfind. As well as two other honset breeders do. Shadowgate neos and Clayton Hills Neos does and i have dealt with both of them and was never done wrong.

No good breeder would ever ship off there puppies to homes where they could not meet the owner and ensure it was a good home for there dogs. Sounds like a byb or a puppy mill.

Why not try and find a breeder closer to home? or better yet check out www.petfinder.com and save a dog in need.

Yes, I bought LLBean's Farmhouse dining table. But that's a table, not a dog. No way that living things should be sold over the internet. It should be banned.

Doesn't OFA and doesn't cerf and doesn't know of them? Please run, very fast.. The skeazy factor is leaking on my computer. I agree that is not where I'd be looking to buy a dog from.

Really? Because the breeder I am speaking with right now is very confident in the home we will be providing to one of her pups and we are confident that she is a well known, top notch breeder, who came recommended from many people, including other breeders.

But, I also know the difference between a BYB and a reputable breeder.. others may not. And I certainly do not go "shopping" for puppies.

Neo- please educate yourself and your friend on finding a good, reputable breeder. If they wish to rescue- there are plenty of breed specific rescues out there, in addition to petfinder.

Just wanted to add that a reputable breeder would not need to showcase their pets on a site such as "puppyfind.com". One look at the place and I knew it was all bad news... there are far better ways to find a puppy!

Totally agree...puppyfind.com is a terrible place to find a puppy.

You do not want to end up with a dog that will cost thousands in vet bills or have an incredibly bad temperament (especially in this particular breed).
Contact a Neo breed club and get a breeder referral list. Or at the very least screen breeders carefully making sure they do all the genetic testing necessary before even considering looking at their dogs. Ask them for proof of this as well.

Exactly!

I have no problem with reputable breeders selling dogs to other states through their personal website. Most rep. breeders will find someone to check up on you and your house. Even with me rescuing dogs from a HIGH kill shelter, I still (and everyone who I volunteer with) check references and do a home visit if possible.

However, no good breeder is going to use puppyfind.

This person is obviously a BYB. Sure she says she has a rescue, but you can say you are the queen of spain on the internet and no one would know any different.

Are you a breeder?? If so you should know about the OFA tests, they are done for every breed especially large breeds.

You always use puppy find? Um....I dont know if that means you post your dogs there or if you always tell people to look there for a dog. PUppy find is far from reputable. The lady I got the dals from also told me the male was bilateral hearing (I didnt know any better). Turns out when he got here he was a uni (could only hear out of one ear). Wont even go into how she tried to make me pay big $ for Marley, the deaf sibling. Or how she was going to sell Marley to a breeder. Wont go into that. Reputable, yeah right.
