Thanks, yes the photo in my avatar is Petie the one I do most of my competing with. Actually that photo was taken a few years ago, during a Masters Steeplechase, he Q'd in that one as well.
Steeplechase only has one level Masters, but any dog at any level can compete in it. It is known as 'Balls to the Wall' of running agility!! It is fast and furious. It's Time plus faults, so if you had 40 secs to run the course and you ran it in 34 seconds but you knocked a bar, missed a contact or weave entry etc( all worth 5 faults) you would recieve the amount of faults added onto your time. Therefore usually putting you out of the money, since the course times are so short. Many folks can have a clean run, but can't make time, unless they have a pretty fast dog.
I absolutely LOVE Steeplechase, it is so much fun ( lol Petie loves it too!!)
The Steeplechase we ran yesterday was long 185 yrds, the Mini's (Petie's divsion) had 50 secs to run it, His Lordship ran it in 34.44, so his Yards Per Second was 5.37 not bad for the end of the day and our last run. Plus he was a bit archy from late calls from me lol, need to tighten up those lines and turns!!!
Take care
Lynn
