Long hair dogs or Shot Hair?

I prefer short hair, though I don't mind long hair.

Long all the way! I think it's much nicer to pet. Of course not ridiculously long like a maltese or lhasa for me. And preferably a dog without an undercoat as it's so much easier to groom.

I like petting long hair, and I like how short hair makes it easy to see a dog's lines, muscles, etc. Lilbit is a prime example of that. She just wouldn't be the same with a long coat.

That being said, I like long coats, but not poofy like a bichon. More utility type I guess. If I ever get an afghan, it's going in a puppy clip.

Ok, is this silly, but one reason I really like longhaired dogs is that on males you don't have to see their 'bits', lol. For some reason that really bothers me. *blushes*

I love Kharma and Tallulah's close coat that shows the musculature, but I also love Bimmer's otter pelt. And I do adore the Komondor . . . and the Ovcharkas . . .

I guess it's what's under the hair that appeals to me most

After spending several hours over the course of two day combing burdocks out of an Australian shepherd's coat...short all the way. Meg went running through the same patch of woods and came out clean.

I prefer longish. Flat like the LHW or wirey like the JRTs. Short coats are nice.. but I can't handle the shedding! (if all my dogs were short)

Long hair. Must be smooth though, not curly. I love my coated BC and of course my little Pappy girl. I also love the Pom coat.

Short for me, I like how clean it can stay and how it allows you to see the dogs body shape.

I prefer long hair over short. Long hair is softer and I find dogs with long hair stunning when they are well groomed.

I do really like long hair on dogs. I clipped my Shih Tzu for the summer, though, because I want her to be able to get wet and muddy and play in the wood chips at the dog park. I don't know that I will clip her next summer, though. She does really enjoy being brushed, so it makes it easier for her to have a long coat
