WHY are people coming online instead of rushing to a vet when something is wrong with their dog? I just do not get it!

When I first joined Chaz it was because something was wrong with Buddy.. yes... but I did not WAIT around for someone to tell me WHAT was wrong with him. We went straight away to the ER! Of course, we WANT people's opinions, hearing others advice helps us to deal with what we have in front of us... but what happened to taking the dog to a vet when something came up? (I mean something serious, like ER serious).

I just don't get it.

OMG! ITS NOT JUST ME!!!

I asked the same question to a Mod on another forum, and they told me "Well people don't know, they need help" I'm like, NO, you don't WAIT and ask PERFECT STRANGERS what to do! You take your animal to the vet!!!

THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD! I Totally agree with you!!

I agree nicole...

I love to come on here and tell people whats going on with my pets and get support when it is something serious and get advice on non serious issues.

But I never understand how people can watch their dog suffer and not go to the vet...

very sad.

I understand for small things... especially for those that are experienced and can offer support.. but 9 times out of 10 what do we tell these people... VET.
Sheesh.

And no, some people do not know, BUT, that is not an excuse. If your child was lethargic and not wanting to eat his favorite cookie...would you just shrug it off? NO, to the doc you would go!

Ok, I think my rant is over. Sorry.

I mean, I've seen posts like "My dogs throwing up and pooping blood, what do I do?"
It's like, WTF!?!? Are you that idiotic?

Arrgh. Actually, I just called the vet because I noticed something on Dulce that concerns me very much, and I am worried. But since I take my animals there so much, they here my last name and go "Oh, hi Liz! How's Dulce and Friskie?" I get embarrassed, but that's how much I go there hahahaha.

I'm not saying everyone has to go there that much, I just mean, if there's a problem, don't take any chances

I'm in that boat, too. Our vet knows so much about our personal life.. I bet she secretly wishes we wouldn't go in so much! BUT, our dogs and especially Buddy, get the care they need.. if that means a vet trip everymonth or every few weeks then so be it!

Yes, I agree. Every few weeks for me.

The ENTIRE staff, including Techs, Nurses, Doctors, an Receptionists, know me. So sad. But I gotta go what I gotta do.

I'm not risking my pets health for anything. I'm especially not going to waste precious time ON THE INTERNET to make posts, and wait for repsonses!

I completely don't get it either. If it's something small that's not a major deal, ask away, but come ON use your common sense!

Bentley once had some sort of puppy virus that left a small bit of blood in his stool. I rushed him to the closest ER vet two hours away. I wouldn't have waited for a second to ask someone what to do.

Would you come on a forum to ask what to do if your child was pooping blood? Didn't think so!

Gah, I know! I've seen ridiculous things that have involved blood as well. It doesn't take an expert to know when your dog needs vet attention.
Of course we love you Nicole! :D:D

Well how about the ones that take the time to log on here type and post what's wrong with their pet then say they are off to the ER? I mean sometimes a few minutes can make a HUGE difference. Why take precious time to type something on the computer instead of loading the pet in the car and jetting to the vet...I don't get it either.
