Oh I just can't imagine what you're going through. Someone has got to have Harrison and he must come home soon. I'm so very sorry this happened. It's got to be making you just frantic. I'd be a basket case. I send my heart felt wishes that he returns safely and soon. (((hugs)))

Harrison was apparently transported to a subdivision on the other side of Fairburn. He was spotted there several times, but the last call I got was two days ago. Someone put a rope or a chain on him, but he either escaped or was turned loose.

I've put up flyers all over the area in the hopes that someone sees him and calls again. The dog trackers tracked him to the power lines, but didn't find his scent in the actual power lines, so they think he's hanging around these subdivisions somewhere. When I called them out, it was raining profusely, but they still followed his scent around the area. They weren't able to locate him, but they've set up bait stations that I visit to see if he's in the area, and I'm hoping he's spotted again soon. :/

So we rode around the subdivisons, my mom and I, because more people are willing to have long conversations with my mom than me (because I'm obviously a young guy, and she's an older lady that everyone wants to talk to for some reason)

Another lady saw him (I add this to his map) and said he hung out on her cul-de-sac for several hours before heading out of it. This cul-de-sac is the same one he was first spotted in by my friend who works at the BP and said his neighbors were feeding him.

I'm waiting until he gets off work, because when we went back to speak to these same neighbors, the people to the left wouldn't even open the door a crack to speak to my mom. She showed them the picture through the side panes that they had curtains over and they shook their head and shut the curtains. But my mom heard a big dog bark and a little yappy dog bark. She stopped hearing the big dog quickly, but the yappy dog kept barking. I'm not sure if they've decided to keep him, or if it's just a coincidence, but I'm suspicious of any and everything right now. I'm going to go talk to my friend and ask if they own a big dog or not.

But he's been seen in this same subdivision for a while now.

I'm also keeping his map updated for those of you following that. :)

I also forgot to add that these are the neighbors my friend is POSITIVE beyond a doubt were feeding him for two days outside.

We've heard a LOT of dogs barking in our search for him, and my mom said this is the first dog that she thought immediately that it was Harry. Now she's doubting herself a bit, because it's been quite a while since she heard him bark, and if I'd heard it I would have know immediately if it was him, but unfortunately, I was driving the car, and she was the one getting out to talk to people.

They lied about seeing him, and the big dog was silenced while the little dog kept barking.

I'm going to make a police report in the morning stating that he's been stolen and see where to go from there. I think I may go over to the neighborhood again and call for him, and speak to the neighbors on the other side of them. They don't have a fenced in backyard, but I think they let him out to roam/use the bathroom, and then call him back in. Indy and I are going to walk to the neighborhood, after we talk to the police and see what we should do.

Also, and I mean this only to help, but I got on craigslist to check the lost/found section and I don't see Harrison listed on the Atlanta, GA craigslist site anytime in the last several days, despite the map of his sightings being only 20 minutes from there. If I found a dog anywhere in the vicinity of Atlanta and it didn't have tags, I would either drive it to a shelter or keep it in my home and post it on craigslist and around town as "found." If I couldn't catch it, I would probably only post it online if I hadn't seen your flyers. The internet is important. Your own searching is important both for your own emotional state and increasing your chances of finding your dog, but I would imagine that your chances of finding him will grow exponentially the more eyes you can have looking. I and my family spent more time advertising Boo as being missing than we did physically searching for her. Don't get me wrong - I still scoured my area and every time we drove around, we were keeping our eyes out... but the more dog lovers who know, the better.
I haven't posted him on CL because I keep getting red herrings from dogs across the city that are in no way possible him, and it kills me every time I get a call that's not him.

Home Again has sent out a blast to every vets office/shelter/ect within a fifty mile radius of my house, and every shelter and rescue I've called scans for a microchip with a full body scan. I've put flyers at every shelter in the area, as well as the shelters in the surrounding counties. I also check CL daily for Malinois, GSDs and GSD mixes, because that's what he's most likely to be listed as, as well as Petfinder as far away as AL/MS/FL/NC/TN and SC.

He's still loose, and I've got a feeling he is still in that same subdivision. All the vets have flyers, and know he may be stolen at this point, and the ER vet knows that I will cover all medical expenses should he come in hurt.

Everyone in that neighborhood is on the lookout for him, but I think that these people may have him, and may be letting him out only to potty at night possibly run around a bit, and then calling him back in hoping that I give up and take all the signs down.

I'm not giving up. I WILL get my dog back.

When my husky was loose/ gone( still not sure if the people took her or she got loose) they saw the adds and ignored them. Neighbor who called us confronted them and they said "so ?". I am lucky she called and we just went over ourselves and took her where she was tied to the porch. It could have turned ugly quick but my now husband is a pretty big guy :p they did start yelling but seriously what are you going to do? You stole my dog idiot!!

Ask that persons neighbors. They may not like the barking or dogs in general and rat them out. Dogs have to go out at some point.

And that was years ago. Probably 10 but it was a newspaper add that got her back. The neighbor said she could ignore the signs up everywhere somewhat but it was in the paper to and she had to look at that and feel guilty. Though who looks at a paper now?!

Can you just be ultra creepy and find a hidden spot to wait outside their house until they let the dogs out to pee. Then just take him back if they let him loose. If they keep him on a leash, then you can visually confirm it's him and then follow the police advice. Since he's microchipped, proof of ownership is easy enough.

I will never understand how someone could take someone else's dog. Especially when all it would do is take this person to open their eyes to realize he is from a family that is missing him.

I like the idea of creeping on the neighbors and wouldn't doubt they had your dog just by the shady way they were acting. I'm a suspicious person though and I would be enraged if I found they had lied about keeping Harrison if I were you! I'd probably end up with an assault charge if I were in your position:mad:

Something needs to give because you need Harrison and I would like to see reunion pictures. Best of luck, CharlieDog

Sorry that he's missing. If those people are keeping him then that is seriously sick! I don't even know if I could control myself if I found someone stole my dog. I think asking the closest neighbors is a good idea. Maybe you could try knocking on the door again during the day while they are at work and see if you can see or hear him if he's in there.

Ugh, all of this is just breaking my heart :(

Is it possible to get the police involved? Seeing as how Harrison may be stolen? What about the news?

I really like the idea of talking to the neighbors if possible, knocking on the door while they are gone, and sitting somewhere creepy and waiting, in the most legal and/or discrete way.

Hugs. That has got to be so hard, but I am sending all the vibes that he is at least SAFE with someone and you will be reunited soon.

I don't think the police are going to do anything unless you have some proof other than "I saw" or "I heard" him. They're going to want neighbors corroboration or multiple unrelated people saying they saw the same thing. pictures of him in their yard, video of them letting him inside, etc.

This sucks. I can imagine someone keeping a dog they thought was just running loose, I can't imagine them keeping him once they know someone is looking for him.

Exactly. Even if you are going to keep a dog that you found, at least have it scanned for chips/ let the shelters nearby know you have it in case someone claims it. Just insane.

It sounds creepy... but could you wait somewhere nearby in a car in the evening and see if they let him out? If they let him out you could maybe call him and see if he would run to you?

No matter what you end up doing, I'm sending serious vibes that he's home soon!

I don't care how creepy it sounds or IS....if a member of my family is missing, I'm going to creep every lead I can find until I am satisfied it's a dead end.....and then creep it a little more.

If you suspect he's there, creep away! Worse case scenario? They call the cops in to question your activity and you explain yourself. I like getting with the neighbors too.

*continued thoughts and prayers*

Well apparently we spooked them yesterday because I got a phone call today that he was seen yesterday back on our side of the highway, so I've postered all of that area, and he seems to be heading back towards our house. I'm going to walk that path and hope that he follows the scent home.
