Smudge, Cider, Dekka (the human not the dog) and I went to a CARO rally trial yesterday. She was good enough to try and take pics for me since I have pretty much no pics of anything but agility.

Cider was entered in one round of excellent, Smudge in 2 rounds of novice b.

I was nervous as I feel like I haven't done much with Smudge, but he was an attentive superstar! He got 197/200 his first round with a Q and 2nd place. (Our only goof up was me having issues telling my left from my right in one spot.. haha) and round 2 he got 200/200, a Q and 2nd place.. we were a few seconds behind another perfect scoring dog. I'm thrilled with my little boy.

Cider got 193/200, a Q and 2nd place, which is very fantastic since I thought our round felt sloppy and we'd NQ'd it. I flew through the course with her and got a surprisingly fast time of 1 min 22 seconds, lol. So because I flew there is a lack of Cider pics as some were out of focus, haha.

Pics..

Beautiful attention

Glowing after our performance, Smudge still offering up attention

Our ribbons

Cider weaving in excellent (bonus in having an agility dog)

Giving me beautiful attention

I am SO proud of you and my baby boy (well, young man now...LOL)...WTG, and I knew you could do it too! That's one smart little boy there, as is his sister here as well. I can see he adores you and is quite focused on you as well. Good job!! :)

Congratulations! You get to weave in rally??? I want to play!
Thanks everyone :)

CARO advanced there is a send to jump in every course. In excellent there is a send to jump in every course, and one of the following.. weaves (at least 6- though I have never seen more than 6), send to a broad jump (ob style), or send to a tunnel.

We've tried excellent 3 times (Q'd 2 times). There were weaves in 2/3, a tunnel in one.

You need to come play in Canada :p

I love excellent news!!! I didn't realize it was timed. I guess that's how they decide the winner when two scores are the same.

Wonderful job, puppies :)

Thank you :) I get so nervous pre trialling.. more so as I haven't done as much with Smudge yet.. Last rally trial we did one round of novice and he got distracted after 5 stations and wouldn't sit. I was pretty upset because I never expected we'd oops something easy. Being the same venue as last time with the same distractions I didn't know what to expect and he rocked my world.

Novice you have 4 minutes to complete a course, advanced-versatility you have 3 minutes to complete the course. Over time is a NQ, but it also determines placements in a tie. Mudge tied his first round for 2nd place, but we were faster. Second round we were slower by almost no time at all, but I'm pretty pleased with his perfect score :)

You need to come visit :)

I'm super duper proud.. though more so of Smudgey as we've done way less together. Cider got distracted and left me briefly.. she came back easily.. but we've been at this way longer.

I'm trying to see if Dekka wants to try a rally trial end of may.. could do 2 rounds with each of my guys, see if I can get both the last Q needed.
