We've got a lot of new members now, so I thought a thread like this may be interesting. I'm currently up late stressing about summer classes, so yeah.

I don't love my current "get me through school" jobs. I like my co-workers, my schedule is nice, and taking dogs with me is awesome. I don't like the people must of the time and their decisions stress me out.

I'm really excited for my future line of work, though. I know all this will be worth it someday.

I enjoy my line of work for the most part. The two things that frustrate me are the hours (having to work weekends, holidays, and no set end time), and the fact that I will never make a decent living off it despite working 50+ hours a week.

It's physical, there's lots of problem solving involved, and my end product is enjoyed by tons of people! There's also a lot of different opportunities within the industry, so I can change it up when my current job no longer fulfills me.

I've been doing it since 1997 and absolutely adore my job. I'm a part time para professional in a PrK-4 grade building (our district goes to 8th grade).

I pretty much seriously dislike my current job. I actually really miss the coffee shop even though I got every town flu. LoL.

Another year and I'll be in my choice career. I could get a lower paying job in the profession, but the hours never work for me with school. :-/

I love my job. Not the retail one, but the one I went to school for (the second time). I've been there almost a year now and I love it. My boss is the greatest and I always feel appreciated. Also, she's English, so I laugh about how she says things on a daily basis. She says vitamins with a short i and it's great.

What I do right now is okay. Retail is retail, I have to deal with really stupid people who shouldn't own pets. But I don't dread going to work, which is nice.

In about a year I will be in my career field. I am so excited. I absolutely love what I'm doing in school, which should transfer directly to what I will be doing in a lab.

For the most part, yes. I go through periods of burnout, but really there's no job where you're going to love every minute of every day. In the big picture, yes.

I love my job.
I work with dogs, every day.

About a third to a half of my work is in the grooming salon.
The other part of it is training, instructing classes, training the board and train dogs, starting to do the odd private lesson or following my boss around learning from him.

I'm so lucky to be working for the people I do, I truly believe they are some of the most experience, knowledgable people in their fields. They have given me countless opportunities already and its only early days.

I learn something new every day, it really is my dream job. I can't believe I fell into it.
I hope to still be working for these people 20+ years from now.

The only downside is the crazy work hours, I'm feeling pretty burnt out atm. But it will pass as things eventually relax and become more balanced.

My current job is alright. I love my schedule, and the pay/benefits are alright. We had a recent staff shake-up, so I can say I like my coworkers a little but more now! I still have to deal with "stupid people who shouldn't own pets", to quote Lauren, but yeah, it's alright.

In about a year, I should be graduating, and then it's off to my chosen career field! Hopefully!

It's alright. It's a lot nicer than most jobs out there but I do get burnt out staring at computers all day. Some periods of time are boring. But overall I'm really lucky to have this job with benefits and perks and good pay. Most days I don't hate it, some days I actually really enjoy it. But I'm pretty sure most jobs are like that.

I love my job. The hours suck sometimes and it can be overwhelming but to know so many people are enjoying what I make for them is amazing. I love cooking so much.

What are you two doing?

I actually love my job. I am old enough now that I can let (most of) the petty, "I work with all women" backstabbing, gossiping crap go. The job itself is pretty awesome. My hours are pretty good, hopefully going to be getting even better, and the benefits are great. However, the salary is TERRIBLE.

I really do. Right now at the end of the school year it is hectic and crazy and just ugghhhh (especially because I'm sick for the 10th time in 6 months) but I honestly love my job. I love the kids, I love (most of) the workers, I love my hours (usually). It's good. :)

I like my job. I work at a dog daycare/training facility and it's been a good job while I'm still in school. I love the dogs, I love some of my co-workers, and it's not very stressful. The pay isn't great but they've been good about being flexible about scheduling me in around my classes.

I'll be more into my career field in a couple years. I just have to finish up my post graduate diploma program and build up more experience.

Generally No. The hours suck. I can work 5 days and not bring home a 30 hour paycheck. The pay is so-so. I get no benefits to speak of. I get sick of being the last person a customer sees and if they are unhappy about something. I get blamed for it. Wether is we don't carry a certain item, the item is priced wrong, the item isn't in the system, OR everything is over prices (which it is more expensive than meijers or walmart). If something goes wrong, its always our(the cashiers) fault.

Basically between customers, bosses and the owner I am under appreciated. I see girls who squeak in on time, want to leave early ALL the time, wont stay over for a few minutes if needed, won't come in if someone calls in sick get rewarded with more hours. And yet I don't call in, come in late, leave early and most times I come in if they need me.

I love WHAT I do.
I don't love WHERE I do it.
Yes. I would like to be able to come home at the end of the day and know that work is done. I also would prefer to be working for someone else at this point in time.

The field I'm going to be going into is a boring, slow-paced 9-5 type thing. I can go home at the end of my day and not give a further thought about it.
