People always ask me how old Bandit is and assume I mean 7 months, not 7 years. They are shocked when they hear how old he is. Which makes me giggle because he IS incredibly lazy and they dotn believe me. He zooms with the best of them and outruns dogs much younger than he when left off his leash to rumble, but no one can wrap their head around the fact he is very rarely even awake. People come over and if it wasnt for the hair they would have no idea I even have a dog.

He seems like an old man to me. To other people they assume I am crazy.

This happens to me all the time.
They think my dog is 6 or 7 months even though he's almost 11 and is the laziest dog I've ever met in my life LOL

Everyone thinks Summer is very young. She's just... very obnoxiously hyper in public lol. At home, she's so good and lazy but when she's around people her brain falls out and she's soo excited she can't help it. So generally I get asked if she's young and if she's always that wild.

Yes. Pip is 7, people are usually surprised. I don't know how people expect 7 year old dogs to act, but apparently he's too zippy at the dog park to be 7. Plus he's not obviously gray and he has sort of a cute, puppyish face.

Hopefully this means he's going to live forever.

Yes for both of my dogs. Sally is 13 and a half and has typically been mistaken for like 8. But these days her age is beginning to catch up with her, so she's starting to seem more and more like an old lady. :(

Seamus is almost always mistaken for younger though. Some people ask how big he's going to be when he's fully grown. He's about seven-ish but hasn't got any grey or anything.

People always think that both of the girls are puppies. Keira is particularly good at fooling people into thinking that Doberman puppies are the best behaved, most relaxed puppies in the world. She's so much smaller than what people expect a Doberman to be, and she's fine boned for the breed and very obviously feminine, so I think that contributes as well. And Dance, well, I'm pretty sure people will think she's a puppy for most of her life. Again, she's smaller than people imagine retrievers should be and there is just something fun loving and puppy-like about her I guess. People always thought her dam was a puppy too (and probably still do).

With Ripley, people are sometimes surprised that he's 3 1/2, but his age isn't guessed at very often and usually people don't think he's a puppy. The people that are surprised by his age are those who then proceed to tell me that he's too small and how disappointing it is he's already hit his prime age to fill out so he probably won't get any bigger. Poor me. They don't believe me when I tell them that he's within standard and correct for a male of his breed. But, when it comes to Dobermans (and working breeds in general probably) people have an annoying "mine is bigger than yours" attitude, so it's not surprising. They can feel bad for me and my 3 year old 'little' Doberman all they want. I think he's pretty handsome and a nice size myself.

People are always asking me how much bigger they are going to get and then are shocked when I say um that one is almost six and the other is four...

One guy told his kid Lily was a puppy because she was so soft. Yeah she was four and a half at the time. And here I am freaking because at the rate she's going her whole head (and legs too probably) is gonna be white by the time she is ten! Lol.

Hmm..people don't really ask how old my dogs are? Haha. I wouldn't believe how old they are if I didn't know, either ;). Boomer is..old..in his teens and definitely does not look/act like it.

Liz & Rage both get mistaken for being much younger than they are... with Liz it's usually at a bench show, because she's stunning... with Rage it's everywhere, because she's a dumba$$.

Penny has absolutely no grey and is 12 years old. People always argue with me.

And Chevelle has to be just a puppy because pit bulls are supposed to be bigger than 45 lbs...

Usually they think she's a badly behaved adult =.=". I've gotten 3 - 5 years; but usually people catch on that she's a puppy after they pay more attention to her face and behavior.

Yep, they think she's younger than she is because she's very playful and lively! Even though she's going grey :(

People usually assume Tucker is a puppy, but it always seems to be after I tell them he's fearful/that they can't pet him. I think they assume he's a puppy because if he were an adult we would have "fixed" him by now. Same goes for "oh, how long have you had him?"

But he is also one of the fastest dogs at the park, so that might have something to do with it too.

People tend to think Dekka is a puppy. I am not sure why. Seren is even smaller than Dekka (though not by much) and as yet I haven't got that about her. I don't think Dekka looks youthful, to me she looks very serious and mature. She is not playful really.

People think Murphy is really young - I've had people ask me how much bigger he's going to get. I usually respond with "Well, he's about 9 so I think he's probably done." Their next comment is usually about his legs.

My trainer told someone that Tipper was still a puppy. (She was explaining to a member of the public that we were still working on basic manners. Like jumping on people. Lol.) I was forced to admit that Tipper was 3.5 at the time.

Mu gets more comments on her markings than anything else. She's super srs face in public though so people generally just ask how old she is. It's kind of hard to tell (even I forget lol).

No one ever believes me that Blaze is 9. He still out runs dogs at the dog park, will run for hours or a ball there ect. when they ask how old my dogs are and I say 9 and 2, they assume Solo is 9 and blaze is 2, which is the opposite. since solo is normally found snffing bushs at the park, while blaze is chasing a ball lol

Webster is a puppy. Under six months old. Usually a GSD puppy. Nvm that he's going prematurely grey... lol

Kim & Mira are both big enough that no one assumes they are puppies...usually guessed to be young (2-3) which I'd call accurate enough.
