Okay, I have an idea.
Yes, another one.
Okay, I will begin with a little information on Vegas.
Vegas, a 7 year old rottweiler mix is my favorite rottie mix. He is pretty big, with black and tan markings and a full tail. He has these big, distant looking eyes. However, upon seeing you, his face lights up, and he becomes the definition of love. He will come running full speed, so fast that you fear he will knock you down! Yet, being the gentle giant that he is, the great beastie stops on a dime right at your feet. He plunks his big, black bum on your shoes and looks up at you with these adoring, chocolate rottie eyes. His massive mouth opens into the biggest doggie smile known to dog kind.
He is just SUCH a love.
However, there is a catch. This lovely dog sits in the local shelter, deprived of social interaction and lacking a comfy place to sleep. Most of all, he misses that special person in his life. That person who will devote themselves to his care and give him the love he so craves and deserves.

So, for Christmas this year, I think we should get a list of people from Chazhound who are willing to put together a small doggie gift basket for one dog at the shelter. For those of you who have a really busy shelter, then you can generalize it to all the dogs.
We can take a picture of the basket, and then a picture of the dogs playing/chewing/sleeping with something from our basket.
We could make a date that we would have to post the pictures as proof of our gifts and for the chazzers enjoyment.
So, whaddya say? I think it would bring a little Christmas cheer to the shelters, and would be an easy way to help out.
