I had a dog once that was insane over a tether ball in the back yard. He could play by himself and really send that ball sailing. The ball from the ceiling is a smashingly good idea! THe problem with our tether ball is it would turn hard as a rock in the cold weather but our lab would insist on playing anyway and would cut his tongue up a bit. He would have been nuts over your ceiling ball.
