Today's scent is BLOOD KISS (from the Bewitching Brews collection).

Description: Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk.

Imp nose: Pretty much exactly like the description, I think. I definitely smell cherry, vanilla, and clove. It's a bit too complex for me to work through, and I can't identify some of what I smell. It's very sweet, but it has an herbal undertone.

Wet on skin: Whoa, clove. Lots and lots of clove. Not too fond of this at all.

Dry on skin: Much better. All the cherry and vanilla is gone (LAME), and the clove has mostly faded(YAY). Now it's the unidentified herbal smell, but it's kind of spicy.

I went back and forth on this one for a bit, and it grew on me as time went by. Apparently, my body chemistry makes everything smell spicy. lol I've decided I like this one. My boss hated the smell in the vial, and she didn't like it on her, but she loooved it on me.

That is really, really interesting to me, and at the same time kind of scary. I hope that I picked things that will smell good on me... I even picked one of the "manly" scents.

LilahRoot, that's why I tried to pick a fairly wide variety. I was worried I'd get six imps of pretty much the exact same thing, and it would end up not mixing well with my scent.

Today's scent is The LION (from the Mad Tea Party collection).

Description: The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious.

Imp nose: Spiced amber, sure enough, but I also smell some kind of a sweet minty scent. In the imp, I'd say this one's not bad, but it's not what

I was expecting. I thought it would be a lot stronger.

Wet on skin: Ohh, the spice is a lot stronger now. Other than that, this one didn't change at all.

Dry on skin: Hrm. Not only did it change to almost pure spearmint, but it faded quite a bit. I smell faintly of toothpaste.

While it's not an awful smell like rotten mushrooms or anything, I'm not a fan of this one. Definitely won't be ordering a 5ml, and I'm going to give the imp away to anyone who likes it.

Toothpaste? So WEIRD, these oils. The Lion is the last one I have to try. I may try it tomorrow, or Boxing Day. Now I'm intensely curious.

Today I wore GALVANIC GOGGLES for a second time, just trying to gauge some of the scents I'm on the fence about. I've decided that it's entirely a man-scent. Gonna try it on Matt and see if I like it on him. His sense of smell got a bit ruined, so he's pretty indifferent to most scents, but he's happy to wear something if I get it for him. :rofl1:

That, and I got some Windward Passage on my shirt (from smelling the imp) and it WON'T go away! It's one of the freebies they tossed in, and it's nice - but um... really strong.

Windward Passage - "Breezes blowing off of the waters of the Caribbean: marine accord, seaweed, and bladderwrack."

I've heard of Jack smelling soapy on a few folks, which is odd. I wonder what in the oil causes that?

LOL that was my first reaction - WTF is bladderwrack!?!?!?

ETA: According to wikipedia... is a seaweed found on the coasts of the North Sea, the western Baltic Sea, and the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, also known by the common names black tang, rockweed, bladder fucus, sea oak, black tany, cut weed, dyers fucus, red fucus, and rock wrack. It was the original source of iodine, discovered in 1811, and was used extensively to treat goitre, a swelling of the thyroid gland related to iodine deficiency.

I would have preferred it to be called black tang or sea oak on the label. That sounds a lot prettier than bladderwrack.

Today's scent is JACK (from the Bewitching Brews collection).

Description: The scent of warm, glowing jack o'lanterns on a warm autumn night: true Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove.

Imp nose: I smell some nutmeg, but mostly it's just really strong and sweet pumpkin. Too strong, too sweet.

Wet on skin: Lots more nutmeg and peach, but the pumpkin is still pretty strong.

Dry on skin: Mmm, spiced peaches with just a little bit of pumpkin. I smell delicious.

I won't order a 5ml of it, but I will enjoy the imp quite a bit. Haha, I wonder how it turned soapy on you, SD. That's so bizarre!

Since I spent the day with family, I wore my tried and true WHITE RABBIT. But, I tried GALVANIC GOGGLES on Matt and he smelled delicious. Leathery and metallic. Like a steam workshop. Mmmm. Matt's sister tried DRAGON'S MILK, and it smelled rotteny gross on her as well. Lame.

Just came back to add that Jack took longer to finish drying than my others. The pumpkin was stronger again, and I smelled like Hobby Lobby. Lame.

I've heard a few reviews likening Jack to a Yankee Candle. Thankfully, on me, it smells more like pumpkin bread fresh out of the oven than artificial pumpkin pie candle scent, but results vary! At least it didn't smell like soap. So weird!

Smelled all of them in the bottles and so far, a couple smell good.. some not so much lol

I got sloth as my free one and there is NO WAY I'm putting that on, I smelled it and literally gagged.

Well, gonna start with Amsterdam today since it seems like the safest and the one that smells niceish in bottle

Oddly enough... White Rabbit smells like rubber gloves on me - like the ones doctors wear. I guess that's okay though, I don't mind the smell of rubber gloves! But still. WEIRD. What is WRONG with me?!?!?! I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with me having celiac disease. Why does everything smell weird on me??!?!

Dry on skin: STRONG. Spices. can't pinpoint which, but very manly. Reminds me of Old Spice. I like it a lot, but not on me. Maybe on Matt!

It's actually smelling less like rubber gloves now - more linen with a hint of rubber glove. And something old... not bad old, but.. anitiquey - if that's even a word.

Makes me wonder what a total lack of gluten (and all foods that contain gluten - pasta, bread, cookies, cakes, pizza.... LOTS of food types) does to body chemistry. Very odd!

At least Miskatonic University smells good on me! Heh.

I put on Nosferatu and o.m.g I definitely want a 5ml bottle of this! It smells like sweet tarts with a hint of old cellar. LOVE IT!

Making dinner right now, but I will write a more detailed review later.

ETA: I just made another order...

Today's scent is NOSFERATU (from the Diabolus collection)

Description: We've finally caved in to years of requests for vampiric scents. As soft as grave dust and as dry as a breath drawn within a long forgotten crypt, this is Nosferatu: desiccated herbs and gritty earth brought to life with a swell of robust and sanguineous red wines.

Imp nose: Very strong smell of an old forgotten shed in the middle of the woods.

Wet on skin: Pretty strong. It smells of mushrooms. (not my favorite smell)

Dry on skin: I can smell the wine now, and I no longer smell like mushrooms. I smell sweet yet musky all at the same time. I LOVE IT!

I loved this so much I had to go and buy a 5ml of it. I can definitely see myself wearing this on a day to day basis. It just smells delicious.
