I'm behind again!

Yesterday I tried LILITH (from the Excolo collection)

Description: Mother of Demons, Vengeful Fury, Darkest Seductress, Queen of the Djinn, Goddess of the Gate. Red wine, myrrh, black musk, and attar of rose.

Imp nose: Red wine. Mmm wine. Not one I would have ordered, but it immediately has my attention.

Wet on skin: oooog. musky and rosey. I vehemently dislike rose smell, and was hoping that the rose in this wouldn't take over....

Dry on skin: Rose and musk. I smell like grandma's house. Blech. I wiped this one off. It was one of my randoms, my sister is going to try it when she visits. Hope it's nicer on her.

Roses, barf. :rofl1: Fran, I'm the opposite of you!

Today's scent was MARCH HARE (previously from the Mad Tea Party collection)

Description: A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove.

Imp nose: I guessed pear and cloves before reading the description. I wasn't far off.

Wet on skin: Fruity, tangy. Spicy. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Dry on skin: A perfect mesh of apricots and cloves, as the scent description suggests. I keep snorfling my wrist in happy bliss. I love this scent, perhaps even more than White Rabbit.

But oh hey, a few weeks ago, due to a component loss, they aren't producing March Hare anymore.

They sent me a discontinued oil sample as a random, probably to finish off their stock.

FML.

Oh it is lovely. I am so freaking sad that I have but this little imp to enjoy. In my next eventual order, I'm going to try looking for some similar scents to try, clove+fruit if possible.

So counting today, I only have THREE oils left. Can't wait til all of your orders come in!

Today's scent is JACK (from the Bewitching Brews collection).

Description: The scent of warm, glowing jack o’lanterns on a warm autumn night: true Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove.

Imp nose: Sweet. Very very sweet. Like pumpkin pie, heavy cream and a hint of peach.

Wet on skin: Oh, there's the nutmeg. A bit less sweet-smelling, noticing the spices. Nutmeg, clove... bit of ginger?

Dry on skin: Ohhhh. I smell like spiced pumpkin bread. This is definitely going on my 5ml list as one of my autumn scents.

This slightly makes up for yesterday's discontinued disappointment, because this is a sweet scent (and I'm fast learning that most sweet scents smell rotten on me, this is an exception) and spicy with clove like March Hare.

I finally got around to looking at the scents some more and I think I picked out what I want. My list is:
Miskatonic University
Jack (I <3 pumpkiny scents)
Nemisis
Coyote
Danse Macabre
Snake Oil (just because it is so highly reccomended)

And if I decided I may like a masculine scent (or had a boy to force it upon) I was drooling over the reviews for Casanova...LOL

MINE IS HERE!!!!!!!

They sent me two extras, as well! THE NIGHT-RAVEN and VERDANDI.

ETA: Sniffed the imps, and I don't dislike any of them. JACK is a bit too much pumpkin for me, but it may die down a bit once I put it on. VERDANDI is a really nice scent but suuuper strong in the vial, so I'll have to be careful how much I put on.

Today's scent is RANGOON RIPTIDE (from the Atomic Luau Lounge collection). It has one of those special labels.

Description: Pineapple, mandarin orange, raspberry, passion fruit, and rum.

Imp nose: Very heavy on both the pineapple and rum. Can't smell the raspberry at all. A bit sickly sweet.

Wet on skin: Ooooh, a lot more orange and still heavy on the rum.

Dry on skin: This is crazy! A lot of orange and raspberry with just a hint of pineapple and rum now.

I like this a lot. Dunno that I'd order a 5ml of it, but I'm going to enjoy the imp quite a bit.

Rangoon Riptide sounds DELICIOUS. The only reason I had so little of the Atomic Luau Lounge collection on my shortlist was because I couldn't choose! I was pleasantly surprised that they sent me a random from it. Aren't the Luau Lounge labels cute?

ETA: I too was a bit unsure about JACK in-vial. I find it's too sweet and pumpkin-y, but on me it leveled out nicely when dry, as I wrote before. Hopefully you get a similar effect!

I hear incredible things about Snake Oil. it's also the artisan's personal favorite scent of all, which says something! I'm especially eager to hear about that one.

Today's scent is BLACK PHOENIX (from the Diabolus collection).

Description: Our signature oil. A dark, languid scent. Promotes hedonistic tendencies and extreme self-love. You won't stop kissing mirrors for a month.

Imp nose: Heavy cherry scent, followed by almond and rose. I love almond. Not usually a fan of rose, but it works well with these other scents. Also... seems like there's some kind of spice?

Wet on skin: Less on the cherry, more rose and what I now know is cinnamon.

Dry on skin: Almost all cinnamon with a lot of rose and just a hint of almond. I can't smell hardly any cherry now, which is slightly disappointing.

I wish the cherry would have stayed a little stronger on me, but I still really like this scent. I'm going to reevaluate how I feel about it later today, but I think I would buy a 5ml of this. Surprising, since I don't usually like flowery scents (especially rose), but something about this scent combination just makes me keep sniffing my arms with a goofy grin. I'm going to look like even more of a loon than usual today.

So, today I tried MISKATONIC UNIVERSITY (from the A Picnic In Arkham collection.) This one was a definite from minute one due to the description and the fact that I'm a huge geek for the Cthulhu mythos and this was the only Arkham scent that seemed good.

Description: The scent of Irish coffee, dusty tomes and polished oakwood halls.

Imp nose: Irish coffee with three heaping spoonfuls of sugar. Sweeeeeeeet. Very sweet.

Wet on skin: Oh, there's some oakwood. Nice. The Irish coffee is smelling a bit... off.

Dry on skin: Oakwood has vanished. The Irish coffee persists, but it's a bit of a sickly smell. Over the course of these oil tests, I'm quickly learning that any scent with vanilla in it tends to go rotten on me rather quickly (Dragon's Milk, etc), giving a gross sickly smell. Unfortunately, Miskatonic University does that as well. I can't say I'm not disappointed, but at least I've learned that vanilla-based scents won't work on me.

I may be bold and try one of the other Arkham scents in my next order. Most of them are oceanic scents, of which I've tried none yet.
