I was thinking about all the upcoming Chaz babies, and I started thinking about baby names. What names do you personally not like for a person? Why?

For me, it's "Nevaeh" (pronounced ne-vay-ah). Literally "heaven" spelled backwards. It's a pretty popular name recently, but I don't like it at all. It sounds pretty, but I personally don't see the point of it. I'm one of those who likes names to have a strong meaning.

I remember in first grade we all looked up our names to find out what they meant, and shared our findings with the class. I can just see a group of gradeschoolers saying, "My name means strength." "My name means beauty." "My name means victory." And then..."My name means heaven spelled backwards." LOL, I wouldn't want to be that kid!

I don't like it when people name their kids after greek gods, like Zeus or Athena. Good pet names, bad people names IMO. I also don't like Kim, which is my name! Plain, boring, and there are far, far too many of us!

I don't like names that sound old.

Like naming a baby Ruth, or Joyce..... or Beatrice.... or Gertrude.... LOL it sounds like she should be in a nursing home. I just don't like them for a baby. Now my grandmothers name is Joyce.... and it works for her because she is old lol.

I am partial to Irish names and I don't like real long school play ground names. I think it puts them at a disadvantage in school, socially and employment wise.

I was thinking about this last night, actually! lol.

Haha, Jess... my name is Jessica Marie as well ;) I don't like either names (which is why I go by Jessie).

I hate the names Robert, Bill, Elizabeth, Ruth, Francis, Mary, Peter, Leila, Tom, Donald... and older sounding names as well. I don't like common names either... like Jonathan and Amanda.

Yeah, there are a lot of names I really dislike.

I'm not a fan of new age-y names like Charity or Sunshine or Cloud or Rainbow, stuff like that.

I am very partial to the name Caitlin however. :)

I don't like a lot of old names either - my grandma was Bernice - ugh! But for some reason I have always liked the name Olivia, which is an old name.

I don't think Olivia is old sounding. I like it and I think it would be cute for a little girl.... remember little olivia on the cosby show.

Thats a pritty name! Isn't it short for Kimberly?...

Names I don't like-Boston(makes me think of Boston creme pie, Janet(blame the magic school bus for that one), Old sounding names, names that are common such as Sam. I don't "dislike these name but for my child I would want a unique name.
