All of my kids got family names except for the first, Rachel Anne.

So I have:
John Kohout
Meredith Marie (Molly)
Richard George (Ricky)
William Jeffrey (Will)
Elinora Jane (Elle or Ellie)

Good? Horrible? what do you think? I had some issues with Richard, named after his grandfather, but it grew on me. Rachel is the only one with any complaints, she says she isn't named aftetr anyone and it's not fair. So I tell her we were going to name her after her great grandma Hedwiga but changed our minds at the last minute.

I baby sat for a lady when I was 14 who at the time had 2 boys named Levi D. and Wrangler Wayne. I heard that she had a daughter a couple years later and named her Jordache.
:yikes: That's hilarious!!! Wrangler Wayne! Can you imagine holding a brand new baby, gazing into his face, feeding a bottle and saying, "My sweet lil' Wrangler Wayne....." OMG! :lol-sign:

ROFLMAO *spits out drink*

Doberluv, that was priceless.

Wrangler Wayne in the house! It sounds like the name of about an 90 yr old cowboy male stripper...

Welcome to the stage, Wrangler Wayne!

Dober... He got called " Gler"
Wranglers name started out as a joke. I didn't think she was serious.
He is about 20 now so maybe he is stripping.

i apparently have a second cousin in alaska named Random.
i am related to a lady named Rhea Dire [Dire, Rhea].
my gram knew a guy named Claude Hopper.

i personally dislike the current trend of wannabe prince/princess/elvish names. like, let's see how weirdly we can spell this name: Madison, Maddisson, Maddyssonne, Madysonn, etc. Rrhiannonne, Rhyannon, Rhianone... Brianna, Brryanna, Bri'yanna.. Katelyn, Caitlin, K'tl'nn, Catlin, Catlyn, and Katelin, you get the point. sometimes they are names that i loved before they were brutalized. it's just so over-the-top. my english pastor always gives the epitomy of what not to name your British son if you don't want him to be bullied: Aloisius St. John Smythe. [PS St. John is pronounced SinJin].

i read somewhere some good advice for naming. think of really amazing careers that your child may have some day, and say the name you are thinking of with that title. United States President Claude Hopper, or Prime Minister Kwynncey Nutmeg Smith?

i have many people i love who have names i would never name my child. personally, i love old-fashioned names. probably because they have a feel of purity or refreshing reality about them. and aren't overused anymore.

I hate those crazy spellings too. Putting an I instead of a Y is one thing, but people go way overboard to the point that it's hard to figure out what the name is even supposed to be sometimes.

I had a friend in high school whose name was A'ame, pronounced ay-ah-me. I thought it was a cool name but it kind of sucked for her because she always had to tell people 3 times, and then they still called her Naomi.
