WHY in the HECK would you put this on your dog!

I was pursuing my collar fetish and looking at some on ebay and found this thing :yikes: Why would you put a thing like that around a dogs neck

A lot of people with LGDs use them avidly, from what I've seen.
A lot are being made for looks, but that's not their original intent.

To protect the dog's neck if it were attacked by another dog.

I don't know I kind of like those collars especially on a Dobbie and or a Rottie. Makes them like a muscle dog and dangerous yet all of the Dobbies and the Rotties I've come in contact with so far has been big sucks.

Wouldn't put one on my BCs, their fur would hide it. Ripley has some spiked leather gear, but the spikes are blunt so he doesn't hurt himself. I think it looks ugly on a Doberman or Rottweiler - honestly, my favorite collar on a large, sleek dog like a Dobe is a thin chrome-plated show chain. There's something magnificent about a large, muscular dog that has the self control to walk on a thin chain. I find it much more impressive and imposing than a brute of a dog hitting the end of a spiked collar.

If I had a LGD it would certainly wear a wide, spiked collar to protect its neck.

I think if one of my dogs were wearing that and the other decided to play she'd get jabbed in the eye.

Orson has a spike collar, it is definitely not as extreme as the one pictured. There are quite a few less spikes, they are shorter and not as jagged looking as those.

We tried different collars....the rhinestone looking ones (the stones never stay in very long), the cute little patterned ones...but none of them looked as nice on his long skinny neck. He has a plain black leather collar, and the black spike one. It just adds some macho bling bling to his already handsomeness....Just a matter of taste I guess.

If you have a problem with collars like this, then you're going to HATE the turkish spiked collars.

There is no point in getting a fancy collar for Riot.. he doesn't even look like he wears one when they are on hes soo fluffy in his neck lol

But those spiked collars i'm not a fan of, especially THAT spiked.. it would definately stop them from turning around and licking themselves though lol

But i have one like that for Tytus and brought Walker home in one I think they are dead sexy LOL.

I want one kinda like that for byron but thicker. I saw one on a dobe in a FHM photoshoot maybe(can't remember which one of the nakey magazines it was ) and it looked great. Of course I wouldn't leave it on him all the time but I still like it.
