At the dog park today a man PICKED MY DOG UP! Physically bent down & picked up a strange dog. How is that EVER a good idea?!

I didn't even apologize when Crossbone eventually flailed and snapped at the guy.

Watson would have tried to bite him too...

I think I might have bit him as well :p

People are so annoying!

A friends German shorthair pointer was attacked by a French bulldog at a freaking indoor dog show last weekend, the french bulldog was on a flexi, god damnit people, time and place! Huge empty field whole camping where there is no other dogs, side of the road for a pee break while driving, yes use a flexi! Pet shop, store dog shows, no don't use a flexi.

You always hope that people who have invested the time and money into showing their dogs would at least have some basic understanding of etiquette.

Heading to get Tulsa and the litter mates who are left to get herding instinct tested on some ducks. THE EXCITE. :D:D:D

Also, this puppy is impressive. Crate training is going so great.

Hah. I get that with Ezra all the time. Yes, he's friendly. No, he doesn't really care about you or your dog, sorry. Or if we're stationary, they try desperately to get the 'pretty striped one' to like them while he's content standing by me ignoring the cooing and coaxing.
For real. Politely disinterested doesn't mean unfriendly. If your definition of friendly is a goofy teenage lab... well, then yeah, my dog's really mean. :p

So are all of mine ;)
Oh wait no, Cobain is "timid." Most of the time I don't have the heart to tell people he's just a snob and doesn't care for people that aren't on the list.

I am lucky I don't have dogs small enough to be picked up. But If I see a grain by person coming or if someone tries to touch my dog I just say "don't touch my ****ing dog!" I have even grabbed people's hands before and they are always shocked especially since because I work with my hands, I have an iron grip. I don't realize it, I just see someone going for my dog and go into "mama bear mode".

I can be mean, mean lady when it comes to protecting and advocating for my dogs :)

I have had a kid hug Watson out of the blue...and to his credit my little snot was amazing about it and just looked at the child with mild interest. In that case I was nice about it...I explained to the boy that he could not just hug strange dogs. His dad was right there too

Mini Aussies, almost without fail, have the loudest, shrillest, most ear-piercing bark out all the dogs I have ever met. It's insane.
My mom has 6 Mini Aussies right now, and I have to agree. Three of them aren't bad. In fact, rarely bark. And when they do, it's not too obnoxious. But the others, oh my god. Shoot me.

Oh yes, I am experiencing it like that! For the most part it's because he's yelling at the other dogs to play with him, which they want no part of - so he gets upset and thinks yelling in their face helps.

Somebody finally got a new pool today :)

No more rolling in the muddy "river" anymore, ya hear me, Roxer? You can roll in nice, clean water now.

I want to try out barn hunt, but I'm not quite sure where to start. I registered the walrus-pup so we've got that covered, but I'm not sure whether to do a clinic that's happening in July, a fun test, or just go for it and try out the instinct test at a trial? He loves jumping on and burrowing under things, chasing critters, and nosework, so I'm hoping that he'll enjoy this addition to our little sport lineup :)

Had a fantastic morning out with the nosework group and then to a pet store. The best part was that Mia got to work too and she did GREAT. I am so thankful for any time I get to work her these days. I am hopeful we have a lot more to come. She's had a great week.
