Oh God.
Why is Louisville next week?

I'm panicking. I'm going to be useless for the next week because I'm panicking. And will be panicking and panicking and panicking until it's over.

WHY did I think this was a good idea??

Am I the only one who realizes how much weird stuff my dog puts up with when I try to subject other dogs to the same sorts of BS?

He still jumps on people and I haven't put enough work into that to change it, and he has basically no recall despite me working on it almost every day for the past few weeks, but he has a SOLID "sit, down, wait" and will hold things in his mouth or on his head for me indefinitely without looking stressed or pawing it off.

We can tell my priorities revolve around getting cute photos and not having a well-adjusted dog. I don't think I should ever own another dog. :/

So thanks to the host of my NW1 trial this weekend I just realized it's daylight savings time...spring forward an hour. An already rough weekend just got rougher.

My friend's wedding is on Saturday so driving down the day before the trial was ruled out. Based on the generic county location provided I figured it'd be about 1.5-2 hour drive. Not too horrible for getting there by 8:30am. Trial date approaches and exact location is released. The trial is further southwest than expected, 2.5 hour drive. Okay, leaving at 6am sucks but doable. Now realizing daylight savings time makes it like I'm leaving at 5am... This is going to be rough.

Now I'm feeling even more "**** we better pass" pressure with all this. Trying to keep a "have fun" attitude but I'm likely to be tired and cranky.

I'm looking at nosework... dang it's expensive! $30 for me, $60 for both dogs to just register. $60 for ORTs then what.... $85-95 per NW1 trial.

I just realized that it's time to start getting in touch with breeders. A puppy is still quite a ways off, but I'm actually close enough now that I should start taking action. It's exciting and totally bizarre. I've never bought a puppy before.

In my neighborhood, Jari's reactivity has (I think) diminished from "full on barking and lunging on leash" to "whining and squeaking while walking by." Hopefully it wasn't just some magic in the air today, because I must say that I can get used to these kinds of walks with him!

Did he happen to get a rabies vaccine recently (as in...within the last couple months), and if so, is it in the same spot as the lump?
No. He hasn't had a vaccine in many weeks. Lots of feedback on FB already covered this, too. I'm hoping pimple or histiocytoma at this point. Just a small hard lump on his left leg near his elbow. I measured and I'm keeping an eye for a head or growth, etc.

Thanks! Ideally a Cardigan :) There's a pretty specific type that I want, though, so it kind of comes down to whether or not there's an appropriate litter in the time frame I'm looking at. If not, I have a couple of other breeds that I know would be a good fit that I'll pursue. My puppy-window is pretty open though so hopefully it'll all work out!

I just heard weird chewing noises coming from Riff's direction. I turned around and he somehow got himself twisted up and stuck in my bra. The strap was stuck in his mouth and the "chewing" was him smacking trying to get it out. The rest of it was pulled and twisted around his body.

I am dying. How did he even manage that.
