Ok, it is true and makes sense, but why does it bother me so much when EVERYONE is like "oh he doesn't care about people because you have TREATS." Well yeah, and he's a German shepherd and has attention to me because we've trained that to some extent.

It's like this condescending "you're bribing him not to pay attention to me" remark that every stranger comments on and it's driving me absolutely insane. As if it has nothing to do with training. -_-

Logan is now able to jump up on the exercise ball and sit on his own (with me holding the ball steady) with no problem, which was NOT possible a few days ago! He even did a very brief, supported "sit up" on it. Woo!

And...he might be catching on to rear foot targeting. Juuuuust barely catching on, but he DID seem to at least acknowledge his back feet exist!

I really need to work on his free stack though. OMG THE FIRST SHOW OF THE SEASON IS IN 3 WEEKS. AHHHHHHH!

I have only personally seen one dog that big and they used to just cut open a bag of food and leave it out for him, they didn't monitor how much he ate, just when it was low open a new bag. He just laid there and ate all the time.

That's exactly what Rowan would do (and look like) if I let him.

Joking aside, that's absolutely heinous especially since she's been with the rescue for so long. It's one thing if they got her when she looked like that but there's no excuse for her to still be that bad.

Mia is being a whiney buttface and I have no idea why. Just looking at me and whining. Pace and then whine.

I DON'T SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE, MIA! I have no idea what you want!

I'm not sure there's any reason to think the dog "has" anything except a historical abundance of calories.
Lol for real.

Darn Juno went and got herself a UTI. Her motto all winter has been "I am going to hold my urine as long as possible so I don't have to go out in the cold" and it appears this backfired on her. Because guess what, now she is needing to go out and pee ALL THE TIME.

How poor would I be if I didn't have the job that I do?? Seriously they've all been demanding medical attention lately lol.

Diabetics lose weight, not gain. They may be fat initially, but without treatment they'll become emaciated rather quickly.

I got Logan allergy tested today. Well, blood drawn today. Should have results in 3-4 weeks. Then treatment, so...7ish months and he'll maybe be under control? VIBES. The good news is that for allergy testing, exam, and rabies vaccine I paid $263 thanks to PetAssure. Totally paid for itself AND the IAADP membership that gave me a discounted price on PetAssure in the first place.

Over the last few weeks, Leo has gotten so much more obvious and consistent about signaling that he needs to go potty. He used to be SUPER subtle, to the point that I would just take him out randomly because I didn't trust him to tell me (even though he hadnt had an accident in forever).

Lately, he has gotten sooo good at signaling. If I am in the living room, he will go to sit right by the door. If I am not in the living room with him, he will ring the bell repeatedly while sitting by the door. Makes my life a lot easier, because I can relax more about taking him out. Looks like he is definitely completely potty trained now :D (he probably was before, but still)

Poor Juno! I guess I should be super thankful I've never had a dog care enough about the weather to that extreme!

Also grateful I work in the field. I added up how much I would be paying for Buzz's twice weekly lasers and underwater treadmill and nearly weekly adjustments if I were a client still. I just keep thinking in terms of MONEY SAVED. Because that's an awful lot of money I don't have to spend. All of that would be costing about $275/week.

I guess my lesson is that I should just make her go outside even if she doesn't want to!

I wasn't even really suspicious she had a UTI, but I decided to run urine because I can so why not? Her only symptom is that she started draining bowls of water - and then therefore peeing every 20 minutes. But there was no blood, no straining, no accidents.... at least, not yet! Thankfully caught it early, I think.
