One of my favorite agility dogs is retiring. Great dog and a joy to watch run. Lots of fire in that tiny Sheltie. Made me just hug Summer and tell her she's not allowed to get any older. It's unreal Summer is already 9.

I shut Payton in my bedroom tonight before we left to go to the hospital. Not in his crate, just in my bedroom.

When we came home I discovered he LOCKED the bedroom door.

we shall not discuss what happened so I could get my puppy out of my bedroom. Let's just say I was momentarily glad my dad did NOT get released to come home today so I could deal with that mortifying moment in private.

Sometimes I just want to sell this puppy on ebay. One Magical Locking Bedroom Doors Puppy. $10.

Keeva is in heat. BLOSSOM cannot stop trying to molest her. Making her flirty face, sniffy at her parts, doing her sexy faux-mounting behavior.

HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE?!??! You're a GIRL!!!!!

Lucy was a mess at agility last night :( Unfocused, knocking bars, avoiding obstacles, ducking behind me...I was just going to chalk it up as an off night, but then my trainer had to go and say, "I'd be worried about something physical--she seems really off."

:( :( :(

How do I go to the vet with this? "My dog is acting weird but I can't really describe it, can you please run $50000000 worth of tests to make this hypochondriac feel better about her old doggy? Thanks."

Gambit is currently on top of my refridgerator, looking out the back window. He about gave me a grabber when I went to get a soda. Why he's up there when he can look out the front without stretching is a mystery that may never be solved, but its so low on my list of things to work on with him that I just got my drink and left him up there

So my foster parti poodle that I was hoping would be staying, did not work out unfortunately...but there's this little poodle mix that has a great temperament and is my ideal size...and he's freaking adorable. He came into rescue not housetrained, and had lacked manners. His foster home has worked out most of his issues, except he pees in the car when not crated (little weirdo), and he's not good with intact males.

I think I really want him...but I'm kind of scared to commit. I'm still sort of upset that parti poodle did not work. What if I adopt this dog and I get him home and he's all wrong for me?

Yeah, there are a couple within a 2 hour radius. I could go next week. Still though, do I just say, "My dog is acting weird" and make a general physical appointment?
Tell them exactly what you said in your post - a change in performance, unfocused, knocking bars, avoiding obstacles, ducking behind you. They won't think it's weird or anything to come to them with that explanation. :)

Sooo excited for little Ned!!

In other news, it's Quinn's third birthday today! She had an awesome day - a good herding lesson, spoiled rotten at Pet Valu, and a huge icecream cone. She will get her presents later tonight :)

Went ahead and set a tentative date for Zip Tie/Zinga puppies now that we know Zip's hips are good. I still have a ton of work to do, a ton of health tests to schedule, but I felt confident in tentatively putting a date out there. It helps that it isn't until spring 2015.

I absolutely adore every single person on my puppy list, I am so excited to be a part of their puppy experience and can't wait to help them add a new puppy into their homes! AND I can't wait to see what they do with those crazy koolie babies!

Also. Holy shiznit, this is for realz. Panic attack will ensue shortly.

Dog people can be really awesome. A really nice person has been very helpful in my puppy search (decided I really didn't want to wait if possible). Several possible puppy leads. Just feeling very warmed from the niceness.

Yay Zip and Zinga puppies! :D

Mia is such a little caretaker of a dog. Lol. I mean... summer is Velcro but Mia has this air about her. Summer sticks close to me because she wants to be petted if at all possible. Mia seems to think I need taking care of. She checks in a lot and often will lick my leg just once... Almost like a pat on the shoulder or something as someone is coming by. Like 'hey there, I like you'. Warms my heart every time. I could do without her trying to groom me every day though lol.

We were doing chores around here and Mia stays on my heels and seems to think the 'job' of overseeing my chores is a big deal. She always is proud of herself.

For such a brat she can be very sweet.

LOL! That is hilarious.

Pan likes to partake in cat humping now and then and has a very cute sexy dance when in heat as well. :D

One of my new clients is a Brittany. What!!! What are the chances? In the 5 years I've had Rowan, and the 4 years of which I worked at dog daycares, I met a total of 4 Brittanys (plus the 3 owned by Ro's old foster mom that I dogsit for.) Not many at all. And now in this small business I'm working for, I get a Brittany as a regular :)

Here's the real musing part: Walking her was exactly like walking Rowan. I mean I felt like I was walking my dog. I've always thought that Rowan was super atypical for a Brittany, but now I'm wondering. My samples of Brits I've spent any real amount of time with hasn't been great - one very weird un-Brittany-like dog with an iffy past, two seniors (11 and 14), and one with serious neurological issues. So maybe I was way off base on thinking Rowan was so... different. He still is in some ways (I mean, he's a lazy Brittany, that doesn't really happen, right?) but... it's really exciting to think that someday I could have another dog with a relatively similar temperament to him. :) I had discounted any future Brits because I thought they were so different. I'm looking forward to spending more time with this girl and getting to know her.

God seriously, getting so exciting and real. Glad you're going to be the test pilot! I really can't wait to see these puppies that aren't even an apple in anyone's eye yet!!

And I'm going to add onto Sara's tentative plan and say I'm looking (if health tests, titles and matching all work out how I hope) at the next year, spring/summer/fall of 2016 for a Didgie/Zip litter.

God, big decisions and lots of things happening in the next few years.
