Hi people :)

My 1 year old Mini Dox, who is male, not fixed, has started HOWLING to get outside pretty much ALL DAY LONG. Regardless if we stay outside for an hour or 5 minutes... He wimpers, cries and howls to get BACK out there.

While outside - He concentrates his attentions to a specific part of the yard, where he sniffs and digs around.. and the rest of the time out there he's just hanging out, sniffing around or whatever.. its not a bathroom break or anything, its just he seems to want to be outside.

I've been trying to house break him for the entire year we've had him... SO TRUST ME - HE NEVER LETS US KNOW HE WANTS TO GO OUT LIKE THIS! I wish he would! If I could get him to be this 'vocal' about going outside for a bathroom walk, LIFE WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER!!! :hail:

Since the weather in North Texas has changed recently - and no more 100+ degree days, I've been able to open the back door and let him bask in the sun light through the backdoor screen door... which he likes. But he STILL whines and howls to go outside.

This has been going on for like 3 days now, we first thought he just missed one of us not being home at the time, or really wanted to pee or something -but we soon realized he just wants to be outside for some reason.

Nothing has changed for him... no diet change or anything like that.. he's not scratching himself, he doesn't seem to have anything "different" in his life - he's just Howling to go outside. Now, for those who have never heard a hound howl, its cute the first few times... especially since he's only about 8lbs or so... but this is like day 3 - and its getting old fast! :yikes:

Anyone have any suggestions?
