Loki, Logan's dad, is available! I love this dog SO much. He and Logan are so much alike from what I've seen and heard about him. And he's already a GCh with a herding title!

So, which Chazzer is it going to be?

(If I was in a position to get another dog, he'd be mine in a heartbeat <3)

You're not supposed to advertise! Logan needs to stay at Mel's so I can hang out with him. :ninja:

He and Strider would eat each other. That's why the ad says "most dogs". He pretty much only doesn't like Strider. They have a history. lol

If I remember right, he and Logan would get into it with each other before I got Logan, too. But Logan was also an adolescent brat that thought he ruled the world :rofl1:

(Gavroche changed his world view. Gavroche is the boss. The end. Saxon's on the verge of learning this very important life lesson, too.)

LOGAN WAS A MEGA BRAT! That is why I initially recommended Amos, but Mel saw through the brattiness and knew he'd be perfect for the job once he matured. And she was right.

Loki does this thing where he rolls on his back with his mouth wide open and goes, "ggnnaaarrrr ggnanar nannararnarnnggnararn*garblegurglegackbleaaaahh*" and bites whatever blanket or pillow is closest.

When Logan was born, I swear within half an hour of birth he rolled onto his back and did the exact. same. thing. Mel and I just looked at each other and knew. . . this tri, he was going to be the naughty one.

He's one of the last of the old Shadaglen bloodline too, which is/was a working farm collie line for decades. To this day I have never seen a dog with better movement than him.
So why is he available?

So why is he available?
He's retiring from her breeding program and she is going to collect him before he goes to a new home. So it's partly that, and partly that he just really really wants a job. She originally got him for SAR and started that whole foundation training with him, but her SO became extremely ill and they had to give up SAR. In recent years his illness has become much much worse, and she just feels that Loki'd be a lot happier in a home with someone who can give him a real job to do or occupy him with lots of sports or something.

He's the king of herding goats. lol. He does like to go herding once or twice a week, but in between he's just kind of restless.

It's hard to describe Loki's mindset. He's like a mixture of prankster derp and seriousdog. He's happy right now and not physically hyper or anything, but at the same time there's this underlying restlessness that puzzle balls and stuff doesn't make a dent in.

So, why couldn't this be a bit farther in the future? In about a year I start my adventure towards my sheep farm! It will be a small farm and I wanted an older, trained dog to start me off with the sheep... He would be perfect! /sigh.

Hope he gets a great home though. :)

OH GOD I'M GOING TO NEED ANOTHER LOKI BABY. FOR SERIOUS.

I think that's a big reason Logan became available, too.

That's Logan, totally. He just gets...restless...when he gets too much time off. And then he starts causing trouble for funsies lol. I swear he's the derpiest dog until he's "dressed" for work, and then he's SO serious. He's not even the kind of dog that gets wiggly when I get his harness out, he just gets serious. "I'm going to stand here until you get my harness on, and then we're going to work. So come on, do it NAO."

Yup! I admit another reason I never suggested Logan is I never dreamed she'd give him up.

When she was doing SAR exercises with Loki she had a really serious problem with him not peeing. At all. He'd be out in the woods looking for someone for 8-9 hours and he'd refuse to pee because it wasn't professional or something. Like, nope, no time for that mom. I have to find that lost person first. Her original SAR collie, Tucker (another Shadaglen dog and Loki's uncle) did the exact same thing.

She showed me pictures of Tucker when I picked Logan up <3
