When you want to respond to a portion of a previous post, how do you get that part to show up in your post? I see it highlighted in a box in some posts, but I don't know how to do that.

Keep in mind that I have no real computer or technical knowledge. I need every step explained to do something on a computer.

If you click on the quote button at the bottom-right of the message you want to include, it puts the whole message within quote tags {(quote=mjb)(/quote) as an example - it's just square brackets, not the rounded one's I've used here} you can then edit what's within the quoted area.

You can even have fun and fabricate stuff by like this

If part of your post is at the top of my post, then you might be a genius! If you've managed to give an explain that's this easy to a computer illiterate such as myself, I'm impressed.

We'll see if it's there, though. Here goes.

You almost had it. It looks like you deleted the tag at the front of the quote which should look like this (except use the square brackets):
(quote=andrewf)

EDIT: You got it as I was replying.
