So I went to my dog food store today to see all the different foods they have in stock since all this is going on with Natura. They carry Wellness, Solid Gold, Acana, Orijen, Healthwise, Natural Balance and a food by Merrick but it was sold out. What should I pick out of these? The dogs were on Innova but I would get Evo here and there. Healthwise was priced really good but I have never heard of it. I am leaning towards Orijen in fact I bought a 5.5 pound bag of Orijen and Acana Wild Prairie. They liked both but they preferred the Orijen. Any opinions will be appreciated.

Healthwise is Natura too.

Acana and Orijen are you best bets I'd say. It's not only a trustworthy independent company, but i've seen the best results with my clients on the Champion foods (next to raw of course).

Solid gold is a pretty good food. I don't know how it measures up in price compared to the others though.

Solid Gold is made by Diamond now. That doesn't bother most people, but it's something to keep in mind either way.

Of your options I would also pick Acana or Orijen.

Thanks everyone I think it will be Acana or Orijen I don't think their is very much difference between them. I just looked on their website and see that they have Acana regular dog food I did not see that in the store. I wonder if that is a good food? I will probably stick with the grain free though. The only thing I worry about is them being able to keep it in stock because they did say they have trouble sometimes. So maybe I would buy Wellness if the are out not sure what to do then. This bothers me about Wellness YouTube - WARNING Wellness Pet Food! not that my dogs would eat the fish flavor but what does this say about the company.

Orijen and Acana are for sure your best bet. Up until about 2 years ago, the Acana was just so-so, with the Orijen being really good, but they totally upped the ante with the Acana with the new formulas, especially the Provincials. The fact that they use all regional ingredients is a huge bonus as well.

With the Natura buy-out, I am going to be switching my dog to the Acana immediately. We've been mixing in Orijen with his Innova Senior, but he just doesn't do well with 40%+ protein levels of Orijen/Evo alone, so Acana is the next best thing!

I like Acana best for my dogs. I've used Orijen before as well (before Acana improved), and did like the results, but now I prefer Acana. My girls get fantastic results on it, and I'm also trying Ripley on one of their formulas now as well.
