What is the difference between American show lines, European show lines,and German?

What is the difference between these three show lines? I was getting confused so I wanted to ask you guys!

I'm assuming you're talking about German Shepherds. Not my breed, so I can't really help, but would be interested in "user friendly" answers, too.

In general there are two showlines referred to: American Showline and German Showlines.

Wildhaus has a pretty awesome article on it, HERE.

Which also includes working line information. Once you get into working lines, there are even more breakdowns (Belgium, Czech, West German, DDR, etc etc)
