and this was just the start of it..
I knew I should have stayed in bed today.. I have a cold- no big deal but still a cold with stuffy head, sore throat etc.
Anyway- I had to take some papers in on a errand, so I get dressed etc and leave.. Driving down the road I see a cop coming the other way. Other than a mental note- no big deal. Then he does a U turn- and turns on lights. The guy in front of me blew past me like I was standing still so I figured he was after that guy.. Imagine my surprise when he turned on his lights for me. I know I wasnt speeding ( well going 58 in a 55 mph zone), but still. The officer comes, asks normal "drivers license, registration, proof of insurance" as I fumble to get them, I ask " what is wrong officer?".. He says ( ready for this..) " your inspection on your vehicle is expired.". I look and darn near faint- as it went out in november.. ( its the 9th of december). I guess the shock on my face did it, but the cop laughed as I said " OH my God- I have been in and out of the hospital for about 6 weeks so I have not even driven this van. I will take it up to the Exxon to get it inspected". ( this is a new van really). He goes to his car, runs my license ( I guess) comes back to my van and says " Okay..". I pull out and head for that corner for the Exxon. Go in and ask for an inspection on my van " we do not do inspections- you will have to go down the block to the Texaco..".. As I go back to my van HERE IS THE COP sitting in the parking lot. I walk up to his car and as he lowers his window I tell him they do not do inspections here and going to texaco..". Then the stupid cop tells me ( mind you we have only been here for a few months) " Yea I knew that- just wanted to see if you meant to inspect your vehicle..". I swear I wanted to slap him! Why didnt he tell me Exxon did not do inspections there and say " oh well try Texaco..".. But nooooooooooooo he has me stop etc.. And what makes me the most mad is that he ignored that speeding car to pull me over for a stupid inspection sticker on an obviously NEW van!
