My husband just came home from Walmart with a Furbuster. Looks like a furminator but it was only $20 and you can by a small, medium or large comb and they all are interchangable on the same handle. WOW WOW WOW:hail::hail: It worked great on our dog Grizzley who is and Aussie.GSD mix and also on our cat who has shorter hair. It worked great! After I was done it looked just like those advertisements of the dogs with the fur all around them. For anyone who doesn't want to spend $40 or more on the furminator try this. It comes with one comb for $20 and Todd said the other size combs were about $12.

In my experience, (which is a lot lol) the furminators don't work that well to begin with.
Well, i suppose it depends on what type of dog/cat you are using it on in the first place.
But that is some great information! thanks!

As a groomer I use the one from Bamboo. It also has interchangable blades and works great. I have a lot of longhaired and undercoated dogs to brush out and it works great. I have used these when the owners are there to pick-up their dogs or cats and they have purchased one themselves so they can keep up with brushing at home.

I also baught the Bamboo at Walmart and I use it on my golden!.For the Price,it work great!.

I tried the Furbuster from Wal Mart on Sophie (golden/chow mix) but it did not perform as well as it did on Noah (yellow lab/border mix). Would the Furminator do a better job on dogs with a thick undercoat?

I also brought this to my dads house and tried it on their St. Bernard and it worked great on her. They also have a great pyranees but won't be able to try it on him for a while. The poor thing...my dad took him to be groomed trimmed and bathed and he came back looking like the groomer gave the shaver to her 2 year old to do it. He was shaved to the skin (you could see the pink of the skin) and some areas she completely missed and other areas you could actually see the outline of the trimmer.
