Ugh, sometimes I get so tired of the dogs in my neighborhood (well not really the dogs, but their owners). I just need to vent a little!
Last night I took the girls out for a walk after getting home from work. There are so many yards we walk past where there are dogs just barking and barking and barking as we walk past. My pups really don't even care anymore unless the dog sounds particularly vicious, so it's not like they're barking back. There's this one yard we pass sometimes where there are two dogs that sound like they want to KILL us. Jazz and Dom get a little whiny when going past that one and Dom did bark the other day when the dogs actually flung themselves against the fence.
Do I ever heard the owners come out and stop them? Verrrry rarely.
When we were just about home during last night's walk I hear this woman calling her dog and see this little poofy thing trotting towards us. The woman repeatedly calls it back and it doesn't care one bit. I sigh, roll my eyes and turn around and walk away a little until the woman finally gets little foofy dog back to her. And you know what she does once it comes back? Just lets it keep walking off leash while they go to the mailboxes... After that I see her have to call the dog out of the street more than once because a car's coming. I really thought that dog was about to be smooshed a couple of times.
I mean really, is that hard to just stick a leash on the dog? It obviously doesn't listen to you at all. She at least carried it on the way back, either because of us or because it couldn't stay out of the street for more than 3 seconds.
There used to be a pug that was always outside, either by itself or with a 10ish year old kid sort of watching it while he played with his friends. The pug would always follow us when we walked by and never came back when they called it. I think they eventually moved though, I haven't seen him in awhile.
It really does make me sad though to think of all the dogs I hear barking from their yards night and day, and I never see them out for walks.
