What about a Sandals Resort somewhere? My husband and I went to the one in St. Lucia for our honeymoon and loved it! It is all inclusive, and we had so much fun. They have them in Jamaica and the Bahamas too. I defintely recommend all inclusive, because I have been to the Bahamas on a trip that was not and it was the worst trip I have taken so far.

Denaluvscorgis,

When you go to tripadvisor.com you will see a search box near the top. Write in keywords line "Florida Forum" or "Miami Forum" "New York Forum". That's how you get to the right page.

Well, I'm going to throw my 2 cents worth in. My husband and I went to Lake Tahoe for our 20th anniversary in August and it was the most beautiful place either of us have ever been. We spent a whole week there and spent days on the beach, walking, sight seeing and even drove to San Francisco for the day to visit Alcatraz, etc. + there is gambling of course. The other place I would suggest would be the Carribean. Good luck and let us know what you chose.

Anxious to know what you decide . What's a vacation for one , may not be another's cup of tea . I , for instance , have no desire to take a cruise .

ok, i have been to:

Iberostar quetzal/toucan (its listed as 2 seperate resorts but they are connected) (in Mexico, south of cancun)

Iberostar Haciemda Dominicus (i am almost 100% positive it was this one, lol)

I cant remember the other ones, so let me know if you want more names cause i would be happy to call up the rents and ask (i just cant now cause they are at work)

When looking at tripadvisor.com, you will see many mixed reviews, mainly dealing with the food and the language barrier. My whole family and i LOVED the food...no issues whatsoever...its an all you can eat buffet 3x a day.,,,sooooo good.

The language barrier wasnt much of an issue at all i didnt think. Its just some of the workers who dont speak great english...but for crying out loudm you are in another country!!!! The vast majority speak flawless english anyways.

Anyways, we always had great experiences with the all inclusive. the best part is not having to interrupt your day at the beach to eat...cause they have food right by the beach...just throw a sarong on, and you are ready to eat!

The one place we didnt like so much was on the pacific side of mexico...the beach was really rocky, and my grandparents didnt like it cause there were too many steps in the resort...sooo maybe just avoid the pacific side??

i dunno personnally i LOVED all the trips...i could never understand some of the bad reviews

We've gone both ways . I don't eat that much , so the buffets are wasted on me . We've worked it out so it's really cheaper not to go inclusive . Buy our rum and grapefruit juice etc and do a lot of hors d'oeuvres and share . Love to try the different area's eateries .

We went to Datona one year, stayed in Manatee motel/inn I forget what it was but anyway, it over looks the ocean, pets are welcome. It has a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and the upstairs has a balcony so you can sit out and enjoy the view. The bad thing is, pets arent allowed on the beach. I loved it. It cost like $300 for a week. There is a big grassy area next to the pool (it has a pool to) for dogs to walk around. I still tell people if I could live anywhere it'd be right there.

I've actually been to Lake Tahoe many many times. It's actually only a days drive from where we are. We're taking a trip to the Reno area sometime this year and plan to stop at Lake Tahoe. My son also goes there to snowboard.:)
