Uncle Fred's Approach to the Ladies

Uncle Fred is not much of a humper. He will obviously attempt to go after females in heat, and sometimes after certain neutered males. However he tends to just fall in love with older, spayed females. It actually looks like romantic love to me.

And he looks and acts like an absolute doof.

For example, today a very nice brindle pittie bitch, spayed and something like six years old came to the dog park. Uncle Fred took one look at her and said "Arooooo" to himself--much like a wolf whistle I think.

Then he approached her, bowed in front of her, and Arooed a couple of more times. Then he did a little dance. At this point, Star, the pittie, looked at her owner for guidance, as in "OK, this dog is insane, what am I supposed to do now?"

He followed her around, looking wistful, but never attempting to actually bother her unless she made the mistake of looking at him. Then he did the bow and "ARRRRROOOOOO" thing again.

This went on for quite a while. She never deigned to pay attention to him, and he clearly didn't appreciate all the people laughing at him.

So do any of your dogs get crushes? And if they do, how do they show it?

Oh, dear. Poor Uncle Fred. I'm not laughing, Uncle Fred. Honestly I'm not. Really. Not. No laughing. No, I always have iced tea coming out of my nose. It's kind of my thing. No relation to laughing. At all.

And, Ophie has a puppy crush on EVERY SINGLE MOVING OBJECT ON THE PLANET.

I WISH more people would let their dogs come play with mine.
But, then again, I WISH more people around me were more responsible with their dogs, and I could actually trust other people's dogs with mine.

Kiba has a little boyfriend that will Aroos at her and then hip check her repeatedly between Aroos.

Tsuki will go up to Stryder and do s little dance half-bowed and then flip to her back so she can be sniffed. Thus the name Tsuki McTrampypants

Liz also gets crushes on older, spayed female dogs :rofl1:

She dances around and playbows, but instead of "aroo"ing she makes this odd tractor-starting/ruffed grouse taking off "whuffling" noise... and then proceeds to chase the dog around and try to hump it.

Usually it's older, spayed, female beagle mixes. It's ruined a few days at the dog park

but honestly, I think it's hilarious.
