I felt the need to write this update because Tucker almost acted like a normal dog today. My 11 year old cousin from Georgia is up visiting with our grandparents and they came over today. Tucker's never really met kids, but I suppose 11 might not really be a kid in a dog's eyes. In any case he started barking when they came in so I took him from the room and mom told my cousin to ignore him. I brought him back in and she was staring straight at him so he started to growl, I told her not to look at him and she looked away. His tail started wagging. He sniffed her and started licking her toes. She continued ignoring for about 5 minutes. Then she sat down.
He came over, sniffed, licked her hands, then stood up and put his paws on her lap. She held out her hand, he wagged and licked and was happy. She started petting him and he was loving it. That was by far the fastest he has ever begun enjoying a strangers touch. It's really encouraging to see how much better he has gotten and how he continues to improve even though he's already a year old. I really hope we can continue having people over at a decent rate, it's REALLY helping.
