(I know a lot of you from other forums may have seen this before and I apologize, but I gotta do those introductions!)

It all started with this:

"Jorja: Australian Kelpie Border Collie mix, female, 19lbs"

I don't know what it was about this grainy photo of a bat-eared dog, but that picture started something. That was my dog. I quite frankly didn't care where she was from, what her issues were, what she was about, she was my dog. She was Rigby.

Home 3 days:

Dull eyes, brittle coat, approximately 23lbs, 18 inches tall

1 Year:

Bright eyes, shiny soft coat, 28lbs, 18 inches

Just over 2 years

I don't know how old she was when she first entered the shelter. All I know is while she stands prouder and more confident than she once did, she measures to the same height.
Her dental staining is progressively clearing up.
And the white on her is slowly being taken over by the brown and black.

Sorry for the photo spam :D

Thanks! :)

She's my first dog that wasn't from a breeder (aside from the childhood Border Collie), so she and I have had quite the journey with first gaining her trust, then building her confidence.

It's a totally new experience for me, but I think I'm doing alright with her.

OMG love her! I am always drawn to your pictures in the 52 weeks group. I guess I have a super soft spot for Kelpies now ;)

Her shelter picture would have drawn me in too! Exactly my type of dog, she's gorgeous! Love her ears but seriously, those eyebrows are what get me!

I really love the difference you can see between the first two pictures and the third, it's incredibly noticeable.

Those ears are perfect. I love the little cuddle ball she curls into on the bed. She looks so content now, what a difference from her shelter pic.

.
My boyfriend calls them her "fake Orca eyes" Lol
If it weren't for them, I don't think anyone would be able to see her actual eyes in a picture!

What I love most about those pictures is that Cobain (the Border Collie) does NOT cuddle. Not with me, not with the other dogs in the house. He used to get up and move if other dogs tried that with him. Yet from day 1, he tolerated (and maybe even came to enjoy??) it from Rigby.

She's a great little dog, minus a few "quirks" that we're working on, sometimes I forget just how far she's come in the past 2 years.
