I've began to supplement my dogs diet with a powder product by Wysong called PDG. On the back there is a listing titled "Guaranteed Analysis" listing the crude Protein, crude fat, crude fiber etc----What does the "crude" part mean?

Crude protein is normally determined by measuring the amount of
nitrogen in a sample and then using a conversion factor to estimate
how much protein that represents. The classic method is the Kjeldahl
Nitrogen assay. Crude protein will include both true protein and non-protein nitrogen.
