I always get the stupidiest questions from people when they come to my house. if one dog is crated for some reason they will ask "do you let them out?" No they live in there 24/7 :rolleyes: Of course they come out! We dont even use our's that often.
Or when they come in and the dogs are excited because we have company yea they bark and run around looking for a toy to bring them. They will ask " wow how do you deal with them like this all day" Really come on now you think they just run around all day The second you leave they find a spot to nap lol

People really need to think before they speak. :rolleyes:

Ugh, I hate stupid questions! When Chewy had a Halti people would ask why she was muzzled. She would yawn, or be panting with her tongue hanging out, and people still thought it was a muzzle. Yes, you can see every single one of her teeth. Clearly it's a muzzle.

When we had a gentle leader for the Lab we were raising, I was asked once, "Why do you have a rubber band on your dog's nose?" And we also got the muzzle thing quite a bit. Good grief.

Oh, oh, oh, but here was a priceless conversation that happened at our vet clinic just the other day.
Client: "My dog had puppies last night, but is now having tons of green discharge. A friend of mine told me it was the placenta, but I wasn't sure."
Receptionist: *recommends to take the dog to the vet just in case, but we are closing for the evening and it would have to be refferred to the emergancy clinic at Purdue*
Client: "Oh, I can't take her to Purdue. I already called there. My dog is a Pit Bull mix and is medium sized - they only have a small and large animal hospital."

:rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:

I often lock Ripley in his crate when we're having company, just because our house is small and he and his exuberance can be overwhelming to people. Plus, when I'm constantly having to watch him and make sure he's using his manners, I don't really get to visit. But the people who do come over make stupid comments (that are not meant to offend, I know, but it's still irritating) like: "I'm beginning to think Ripley doesn't live here anymore", or "Do you always keep him locked up?", or if he's leashed to me instead of in his crate: "When does he get to come off?", "Is he always tied up?", "What kind of life is that?", etc. It goes on and on and I absolutely hate it.

Or, because my dogs are taught to go to their beds in the livingroom when somebody comes to the door (and aside from Dance's 2 cents, they don't bark), people will comment on how weird that is. Or the people get down on the floor, after I've specifically told them time and time again to please ignore the dogs until I release them (otherwise they get too excited and 3 hyper dogs in a little house can be chaos), and talk to them in that high pitched baby voice and encourage the dogs to run over to them.

None of our guests listen to any rules I have for the dogs. None. It doesn't matter how many times my mom and I tell them, and I don't want to sound like a rude broken record, they just don't get it. It's so frustrating. So their behaviour, combined with the stupid questions, often make me just dread having company.
