I came home from work today to find Danny's wedding band on the dresser. He didnt even wear it to work today. He takes it off quite a lot when he's home. I rarely take my wedding rings off. I want him to wear it. What do I do? I am really upset that he didnt wear it today. Okay so maybe he forgot. I would never forget, though. If I did forget it'd ruin my whole day. I bet he's fine and that p!sses me off.

My DH doesn't even take his off to shower...neither do I. The only time I take mine off, is when I am mixing meatloaf because I do that with my hands and I've almost lost it in the meatloaf before haha!

I don't know if it'd bother me...because he's never done it..hmm....

If after 8 years of not doing it he did of course it'd mean he was getting some on the side, LOL.

Well I want him to wear it all the time! He has never worn any kind of ring before. I dont think he is used to the feeling. Plus he says its a tad too big but its not. I really wish he'd never take it off. I know he'd be more upset if i forgot to wear mine.

*snort* I already know if I forgot to wear mine the only one that'd notice is me, and possibly my "miss nothing" daughter. Men don't notice half the stuff you think they will.

You dont understand. He knows if his deoderant has moved a quarter of an inch. He notices EVERYTHING. I KNOW he'd pout and in a joking manner pretend he was convinced that I dont love him anymore or that I want a divorce b/c i didnt wear it. He wouldnt be serious, of course but he would give me a hard time about it for a little while and let me know in a freindly way that it hurt his feelings a little bit.

Don't make a mountain out of mole hill;) You married him, he must love you and be a good guy, right? I think women expect men to act and feel as we do. Some men aren't as sentimental in a symbolic kind of way and if they aren't used to wearing a ring, it can be uncomfortable at first. Just talk to him about it (nicely) and I am sure he'll give you his reasons.

Could be that if it doesn't fit just right, it's uncomfortable. If he says it's a little too big why not suggest getting it resized? I k n ow quite a few married men that don't wear their wedding rings for many different reasons. Mostly they are all Machinist and work in grease, oil, engines and all sorts of things that could ruin it. Some guys also aren't into jewelry.

If it makes you that upset, why don't you just talk to him? When my hubby and I got married, he said he'd probably never wear his ring because he works with boats and tools and he didn't want to lose it or get it messed up. He's never taken it off since I put it on when we got married. It's all scraped and scratched with dings and dents. But it means alot to him to wear. But even if he didn't wear it, he's still mine. LOL.

Just tell your hubby how you feel and see what he says. Maybe he has a good reason he's not wearing it. ya never know til you ask.

Get him a neck chain and suggest he wear it as a necklace?

That wouldn't bother me so I don't know what to suggest.

What kind of job does he have? If he has a job that makes it uncomfortable or not safe for him to wear it then maybe you could get him a chain and he could wear it on his neck if that was more comfortable for him.

Tom hated rings and I never gave him one . Years ago they weren't exchanged . He never was unfaithful in our almost 50 years . Just talk to him about it . I'm sure if it was an issue , he wouldn't have just left it on the dresser .

To be honest... don't be upset....

I can't wear my rings right now because I have this weird patch of skin where my rings where.... it's itchy and sore. My MIL says it's from not drying properly or leaving some soap behind after washing my hands. I am not used to wearing rings on that finger.... or at all. Perhaps he is experiencing the same thing.

I told hubby before we got married that I am not SURE that I would be able to wear my rings because I am not used to it... Just in case.

Some people just aren't used to wearing rings and it can really cause trouble on a new ring finger.

ETA: BTW I also have lost my wedding ring TWICE. My husband just laughed at me and my disorganized clumsy nature lol. REALLY there are more important things to worry about in a marriage.

I have had to take my rings off some because of that. I had been taking them off at night and putting lotion on my hands and where my ring goes to help it.

As a guy, I haven't worn my ring in probably 6+ months. It was getting tight and caused my finger to hurt, so I'd take it off and stick it in my pocket. Better on the dresser then lost somewhere. If his is too big, he's probably worried about losing it.

I never wore any jewelry before getting married, so it was a big change. It took several months to get used to. Now since I haven't been wearing it, I miss it.

The ring is just a symbol of your commitment. It's the commitment that counts. Take it easy on him.

I take my rings off and put them in a certain location (not the jewelry box) and if my husband moves them, I ALWAYS forget to put them on in the morning.

I have one week out of every month I don't wear my ring, simply because it becomes too tight due to swelling. I refuse to have my ring sized so I can wear it during that week too and risk losing it the other three weeks.

I wonder if it could be that you are allergic to the type of metal. My mother had a friend that could only wear her ring for about 6 hours a day and then it would turn her finger green. It didn't matter what type of metal it was either.

I know I can wear any type of ring (gold, silver, platinum) but if I wear anything other than sterling silver earrings my ears swell and become VERY painful.

I'm not mad at him and I know he isnt cheating. (he doesnt have time, lol). He works in retail. He said he just forgot it. The fact that he just forgot it is what bothers me. Not that I think he is trying to pick up women. He says its too big but it isnt. If it were any smaller he wouldnt be able to take it off.

I guess he just forgot b/c he has never had a ring to keep up w/ before. I know he isnt used to jewelry but he said he would'y have an issue wearing a wedding ring. He is kind of sentimental in that way. I spent lots of time finding the manliest ring I couls so I just want him to wear it. (a 7mm think tungsten carbide band.) He said that he just forgot it b/c he took it off to shower but he felt naked all day.

I'm not devastated about it or anything. I was just slightly affected by the mild lack of appreciation.

People forget new things...heck sometimes I still forget my cellphone and that thing is practically surgically attatched to me anymore. If he's not used to wearing it, it's no slight towards you that he forgot it...I used to forget to wear a very special ring when I first got it because I took it off to shower. He'll get in the habit.

I don't think so... because I wear two bands and they are both gold and the same Karat. BUT.... I used to only have one band... I now have two because I lost my one band for the second time (oops) and we couldn't find it for a week so he bought me a new band.... after which we found the old band. So now I wear the new band in front of the old one because it is a little smaller and keeps t he old one that I kept losing on lol.

but seriously... if my hubby can forgive me for losing my wedding ring TWICE.... you can forgive him for forgetting to put it on :D at least he didn't lost it in the garbage can at the Dr;s office hehehe

I left my engagement ring sitting on the side of the bathroom sink twice within two months of being engaged. I think it was after that second time that my husband went and got insurance on it. :lol-sign:
