I'm working on updating my resume. Luckily I had updated it in 2004 because the last time before that was probably 3 or 4 years!
I know there are a number of members here that are of the 'younger' set (I'm old as dirt, ok young dirt but still old as dirt!) and I am finally learning this lesson. Everytime you change your work duties, even in the same company and under the same job title, update your resume!!
I'm looking at job change #7 in 7 years with the compamy I work for. None by choice, all by job elimination. This time I've decided to post for another position within the company. The job came open while I was off on leave after surgery and so I have only this weekend to get my resume updated. If I had not updated it in 2004 I would have been too overwhelmed to get it done and would have passed this chance by. It would have been even better if over the past year I had updated it from time to time as I took on more responsibility!! But at least it's doable!!
So....get cracking people...Update those resumes!!!!!
