Problems with the therapy dog idea

I've been interested in getting Zeus involved with the therapy dog program here in my town. So I contacted the therapy dog group here in town. Turns out that the guy in charge also runs one of the local rescues, and I've met him several times before. Let's just say he's a few french fries short of a combo meal, and I don't want to get involved in that program.

But here's my thought. If I get Zeus' therapy dog certification somewhere else, can we contact local nursing homes and hospitals and go solo? Or do therapy dogs need to operate as part of an organization?

I think you can go solo once he is certified.Check with the nursing homes on the rules they have set up.

I go solo , though it's part of our Golden group.
