I hope I'm putting this in the right place....but if not I'm sure someone will move it to the correct place :D

Please sign this petition as it is very important! We all know what it's
like for a dog to completely disappear but apparently this retriever was
ill taken care of and is dead not missing. These handlers need to be
made to face up to what they did and hopefully they won't be showing
anymore!!

I wanted to check this out and be sure that it was an actual case and,
sadly, it appears that it is. The owners have a website at
http://www.jagcomehome.com and it details their search for their dog and
ultimately for information about their dog's death. They recently
(7/25/05) filed suit against the handlers.
--- Begin forwarded message:
Recently in the Golden Retriever community two top professional handlers
left a beautiful Show Dog Hall of Fame Golden Retriever unattended on a
grooming table with a grooming noose around his neck, and went to show
other dogs. Jag fell off the table and hung himself. If that were not
horrible enough these well know handlers lied to the dog's owners and
said the dog ran away after being frightened by a loud truck. The owners
flew from California to Kansas and searched for weeks. The story made
all the news programs. Every vet was alerted. The search became
nationwide with a huge reward. Now 2 months later 2 witnesses have come
forth to tell what really happened to this beautiful boy. They had seen
one of the flyers when the owners believed he was just lost. Th e owners
have now initiated a substantial lawsuit against these handlers.
Hopefully they will be banned from AKC competition. At the very least
they should be put out of business. Let not Jag's death be in vain.
please sign this petition to the AKC to make it a fineable offense to
leave a dog unattended on a grooming table at dog shows. Let not Jag's
life be in vain. Thank you Please go to
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/jag and sign your name and forward
this to any other lists, dog clubs or people you know. There is a
signature goal of 250,000 but I'm pretty sure we, as dog lovers, can get
easily more than that.

OMG...that is just so sad. Poor boy :( Just another reason why I show my own dogs and never send them away with strangers aka handlers!
