Today we walked past a house where a lady was outside with her pug. This was the biggest pug I have ever seen. Quite obese. It wasn't on a leash and came charging over to Toby scaring him to death so that he is running all around my legs trying to get away from it. The woman ran over and was trying to get her dog all the while saying he would never bite he just wants to sniff. Finally she got her dog and was holding him. She told me he's been bitten by other dogs because of how he keeps running over to them  .

Afterwards she asked me if Toby was a crested. I told her yes and she acted like she wanted to have a conversation or something but I just wanted to get away from there so we moved on. Toby isn't scared of all other dogs it's just when they run at him out of nowhere he gets spooked. I would have hated it if he had bitten that dog out of fear.

Oh and our town does have a leash law.

I know how ya feel Tobysmom. I have to deal with 3 different dogs that are allowed to run around unleashed in our complex. It seems like me and one other guy that has a Pug are the only one's that walk our dogs on a leash. I had one GSD mix following about 10 feet behind it's owner, stopped in our yard to talk with a guy that visits downstairs and her dog craps in our front yard. Now my dogs will probably get blamed for it.
There's a black/white mix dog that is agressive towards females and is either off leash or slips her tie out (on a tree) and runs over and growls/shows teeth to my girl Tira.
There's also a dachsund that barks/growls and nips at anything it can get close to and he's always out off leash.

I'm tired of being responsible, watching out for where my dogs potty and keeping them on a leash, making sure they are safe yet having these other jack @$$es dogs running around terrorizing the neighborhoods good dogs.

Poor Toby :( I hate it when people just let their dogs run loose. I'm glad he was a good boy though and didn't bite....although I couldn't have blamed him if he had :p
