I can tell you when we thought Zac was going to be a girl, his name was going to be Sydney :) Sydney Patrice in fact, Patrice after my mother. We had NO boy names picked because not one but several ultrasounds showed a GIRL  LOL, glad they have improved since then.
Sydney is one of the names I really like, too

After sleeping on it, I've decided that the two are just to similar and it would be silly to name this new one Madilyn. lol. That idea is thrown out.

I dont want anything way popular, so I guess alison is thrown out as well. I am not exactly sure and have to check on it, but I think Taylor is climbing up there on the most popular girl names as well :(. That is the one name that my fiance and I BOTH love. The names I like, he doesnt care for, and the ones he like, I dont care for.

He likes the name Autumn. I didnt care for it at first, but I guess its growing on me a little bit.

The more I think about it, the more I get obsessed about Taylor, lol. And its funny because one of Reggins litter mates is named "Madison Taylor".

Agree with the above . It's going to be a boy anyway .
:rofl1:

For some reason I keep on thinking its a boy as well. But then again, I thought madison was a boy and I found out that I was so very wrong. LOL.

Oh yeah, and I find out the gender of this baby when I am 20 weeks. So a few more weeks to go...

You could always go with "Karsyn" for a girl. ;)

If I ever have a girl, her name will be "Amy" after my best friend (the middle name will be my middle name). And I love the name. It's short & sweet.

I also like Brianna (pronounded "ah-na" instead of "an-na". Kirsten. Kalee. Cassi.

Or you could just name her "Staci" after me. :D
Hey, I actually kinda like "Karsyn". I would have never thought about that and I especially like the way its spelled. Unique for sure.

Another one that pops in my head from time to time is Cassi/Cassie/Kassie. I went to grade school with a Cassie, and I've liked it ever since.

Another middle name I am thinking about it "Faithe" after my fiances grandmother.

You have a lot of good names there. I strongly urge you against odd spellings, though. The poor child will endlessly have to correct everyone about how to spell it, and people will endlessly mispronounce it.

My mom swore I was going to be a boy, so chose Taylor as the name. Came out a girl and she switched the o for an a.

Love the name Gage!

I have to say my name "Taylar with an a," and then have people who pronounce the end like ar.

I like odd spellings, though.

Think of what nicknames may arise too . I wanted to name Jan "Elizabeth " and call her Beth , but with our last name I know that she would have been called " Beefsteak . " I never minded being named Patricia , but hated being called Patty . Wish I had been called " Tricia " .

If both of ya'll like the name, what does it matter what others are naming their kids?

And I agree with Dr. Mom. Avoid odd spellings. This is a favorite of pet owners and seems to be catching on in the human world. Replacing 'i's with 'y's and what not just makes it difficult on both parties involved.
Example: "Ok so what's your pet's/daughter's name?....I don't see an Elizabeth in the data base....I'm quite sure. Uh, how are you spelling it?....Ok yes we have an Ilyzibath....

I've an odd last name that isn't spelled the way it sounds phonetically and it can get pretty frustrating having to spell it out every single time I have to give someone my last name for clerical purposes.

I feel the same way as Reggin about this. My fiance and I picked the name Ava Lily when we first started dating and I had NO idea Ava was one of the most popular baby names the past few years since I don't know any babies and have never met anyone with this name. The name has particular significance for us, but we aren't going to use it...we may if we have a girl a few years down the road and it is no longer popular, but I cannot see naming my child something that is that far up on the popularity list (like top 5 or 10). There would be several kids in her class with the same name. I would have hated to be named Jessica or Jennifer, for example, since they were so popular in the 80's.

My grandmothers name is Patricia. She is called Patty for short.

GO, thats why we named Madison a popular name. Eventhough it WAS popular we still went with it because we both liked it. It was odd though because we were the 3rd Madison born in the hospital in the same week. :yikes:. The nurses were like OH... another Madison! LOL.

My name is spelled funky and all throughout school, nobody was able to spell it correctly. It was annoying at times.

I don't get whole spelling names wrongly thing. It ain't cool, it is stupid. You gotta think 20 years down the line when the kid is no longer a kid and starting his or her career. Having a bizarrely spelt name like Mckenzyii Jaydence or Nevaeh Angel or whatever on your CV is going to make you look like an idiot.

I can't help but think of some gun toting video game character when I think of the name Gage. Is that even a name??

Wow, that was rude. Yes, Gage is a name...and a nice name, in my opinion. I guess we're both stupid for using it (since I'm using it as the middle name and strongly thought about using it as the first name). It's actually not even a name that is very rare either. It was ranked 150 last year

Gage? Video game? Umm, I'm not into video games. Well, unless its crash bandicoot. hehe.

I got Gage from the movie Pet Cemetery. I'm a horror flick fan, the lil boy was cute, and I love the name. Call me weird, but I like it. Yep is IS a name.

Hey, my name is Christine (but spelled differently). Ever see the movie Christine?? LOL.

Yeah, same place I got the name.

Someone at work yesterday asked me the names I chose and when I said Damien, she was like "I hate that name. It reminds me of the Omen." She's very religious so I didn't tell her that's actually why I like the name and just said "oh, yeah, a lot of people think of that" or something :D

I just can't imagine being professional and called 'Gage'...unless it was the Matrix like alias (like Neo) of some comic book/video game geek.

If he grows up and doesn't like it he can always go with Michael.
I think it's a pretty awesome name myself.
