It's ok. What kind are you feeding? Seems they use a lot of rice. But it's a lot better than some that are out there. And I don't like the senior formula at all, the 1st 3 ingredients are carbs not protein and the protein is only 16%.

At first glance it looks good, but on closer inspection not as good. Don't get me wrong, there are A LOT worse foods out there. But I'm sure you can get better foods for the same price. Every Nature's Select formula has too low protein/fat. Here's one of them:

Chicken Meal, White Rice, Brown Rice, Ground Barley, Oatmeal, Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, Citric Acid and Rosemary Extract), Beet Pulp Shreds, Whole Ground Flaxseed, Glucosamine HCL, Yeast Culture, Dried Enterococcus Faecium Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Niger Fermentation Extract, Dried Trichoderme, Longobrachiatum Fermentation Extract, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Extract, Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin A Supplement w/Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Choline Chloride Menadione Sodium Bisulfite, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Sodium Selenite, d-Biotin, Mixed Tocopherols, Silica Dioxide, Rosemary Extract, Citric Acid, Silicon Dioxide, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide.

Crude Protien 20%

Crude Fiber 4%

Crude Fat 8%

Moisture 10%

As I said before, the protein and fat percentages are too low. Also, menadione bisulfite is artificial vitamin K and has been shown to cause health problems. The better foods have all removed it from their ingredients.

I would recommend either Canidae or Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. They're both very reasonably priced holistic foods. If you have a Costoc membership, Kirkland is VERY inexpensive for awesome holistic ingredients!
