Hello everyone! I am the proud owner of a 4 year old malamute/Hybrid wolf (no hating please). I rescued him from a local shelter where it was confirmed what breed he is. He is neutered and chipped and all shots up to date.
We absolutely love Sarge and I don't understand why they get the bad rap they do. He is very loving and loves attention.
Sarge is insitutionalized. He was at the shelter for 4 years and the only interaction he got was with the prisoners who did work release there. Once he had been vet-checked and the doctor told the staff what he is, they all acted scared of him, although he was a surrender (owner's son surrendered him after the owner passed) and he has no history of biting. Is it too late to train him? How can my family and I try and undo the years he spent in that shelter in terms of not over whelming him? He does love attention, but we don't push his limits with it, if he has any. We have a very large piece of our property fenced for him, but I'd give anything to be able to keep him with us inside and am told since his age and what he has been through, it's impossible. I'm sorry for the rambing and hope I'm making sense. We love him and just want to make him happy and I'd love any advice. Thank you
