Hey, do you think my sis would be a good pug candidate? She wants a smallish dog that will be good with kids and perhaps bark when people approach. Unusual requirements, I know. She doesn't have a lot of experience with dogs.

Gloria is such a cutie pie! Your pugs are by far the cutest ones I have ever seen! My DH always wanted a pug and in the far far distant future sometime lol, I think your adorable pics have made me agree w/DH .

Pugs are small (under 20 lbs) and fantastic with children. They are sturdy too which is a bonus when a small dog is around kids. But, they won't really bark at people. Instead, they will do whatever they can to visit and greet a new person...tailing wagging and body quivering with "pet me" anticipation. Pugs love people. They are charming and outgoing. A well bred pug is rarely, if ever, suspicious.

If she just wants a dog that barks at the door bell then a pug might do that, lol!

I'll talk to her about that. I think she'd do well with a grown up rescue that's already housetrained. She doesn't have time to train a pup!

Im liking Pugs more and more because of your pics, I just need to think before I act. I have an Idea of how Verde wil do with pups, she views Erp the cat as prey however.
