might be able to help.

Mordy i read your post where you use a dremel to do your dogs nails.

Mordy said:
my dog has the typical terrier "monster claws" on his front paws and they need frequent trimming despite the fact that we live in the city and he walks on concrete a lot. i don't use a nail trimmer anymore tho, but instead a dremel with a sandpaper drum attachment.

the dremel lets me get closer to the quick than a trimmer, and i try to do them every 2 weeks at the very least, ideally every week.
I got a dremel tool today and i wondered if you might be able to give me some pointers on how to go about doing Odo and Odie's nails. ...Like what angle to hold the dremel ...what position to put them in. anything that might help.

I had read somewhere about a lady who did her dog nails with one and she had a very good site with photo's to show how to do it. But wouldn't you know it i lost the link...

Anyone else that uses a dremel and might have some tips for me would be appreciated.

i think the site you are looking for is this:
homepages.udayton.edu/~merenski/doberdawn/dremel/dremel.html

i do quigley's nails by sitting outside on a little stone bench in my yard, with the dog standing on the bench between my legs (he's only 17 inches tall, so this is more comfy for both of us).

while doing the front paws he is sitting facing me, while doing the rear ones he is standing facing away from me and i pick them up like a horse's foot, pulling back a little bit.

you'll have to figure out what works best for your individual dogs, some don't mind lying on their back between your legs while sitting on the floor, which is also pretty comfy.

the article should answer your questions about how to hold the dremel and everything else, but i'll be happy to answer any additional questions as best i can. :)

Thank you so much for the link Mordy. That is the one i was talking about. It is a real big help to have pic's with the instructions. Very good info on that site.

Now to get started introducing them to the dremel. I will try The positions that you have suggested, and if i have any questions i will let you know. Again thank you thank you very much.
